    Bit of advice please.

Me and my daughter planning on coming for exeter game end of month. We live close to exeter and get to as many games as we possibly can and usually park wherever.

However this time planning on sharing petrol expenses with the nephew and his mate who are long time exeter fans.

Where would you recommend is best to park for a car with both home and away fans in it.

I haven't used it for a while, but the away car park near the Metrodome (the grassy hill) used to be fine for home fans too. Used to regularly park up there and never had an issue, especially for a game like Exeter with not many away fans.

Maybe someone else has more up to date info though, like I say it's been a good few years.

East Dene WMC or the side streets around there. Drinks in there or the Dove Inn - both welcome away fans - then a short walk down Oakwell Lane to the ground.

Street parking close to the Silkstone pub on Park Rd.
15 minute walk in and out but will get you away and on your journey home much quicker, ,easy access to and from the motorway.

The new glassworks car park is where we park for all the home games now. Lifts can be a pain to wait for but if you don’t mind the stairs it’s not too bad. Quick to get to the ground now as well with the bridge open. 3 hrs free on a weekend as well

Yep, East Dene usually advertise on their FB page that away fans and kids are welcome. Been in many times and no hint of trouble. Parking fee is £3 last I heard.

Courthouse (or The Seam as I believe the car park is officially known). First 3 hours are free on a weekend, and depending on what time you get there, you'll probably pay no more than £1 as it's free after 5pm anyway.

Fairly central if you want to pop into town before hand, 15 minute walk tops to the ground, and reasonably easy to get out of after.

I see away fans parked in and around town all the time and never seen an ounce of bother.

That's where we park too. We wait until 14:00 to get our ticket and you get until Sunday morning for free. If you want to get there earlier and go into town, and no rush back after game, just get a free 3hr ticket and go back and get another one after 2pm.

Does it not become chargeable after the first three hour 'free' ticket? If I'm reading the BMBC site correctly then it seems you could incur a £50 PCN by obtaining a second freebie?

It’s only 50p an hour after the three hours anyway, isn’t it? May as well just pay the quid or whatever and do 5 hours parking rather than having to arse about going back and getting another ticket.

I never see anyone around checking. I can't say I've seen any signs saying no return in the same day though, so you could feasibly have driven home and come back.

How do you pay for the extra 2hrs at the start? Is there a way? I don't think the machine is smart enough to work it out is it?

I’m not sure to be honest, presumed you’d enter how many hours you’re staying but never needed to do it.

It looks like you can use the RingGo app to pay for parking. If you put the time you want into that it'll work it out for you - and allow you to extend your stay if you are delayed without having to go back to the car.

Anywhere in the town centre if you're wanting to eat or drink beforehand, couldn't imagine travelling all that way to have the only view of Barnsley inside the East Dene :D

    Explore the town a bit.
