Does anyone have a 2nd team, especially in the English football pyramid. I can't say that I really do. I always look out for Penistone Church results, a bit like I followed with interest the rise of Gretna with the doctor smashing home fotty goals every match. Apart from that I do purchase a Lanzarote first team shirt when we visit, so technically they maybe my 2nd club, but realistically they are the equivalent of an English non league club based on their level of competition and it's more of a holiday tradition thing now. @Marc . I see you have your profile pic as FC St Pauli. Is that just random or do you have some sort of link or affinity with them?
Yep Llandudno fc. Who play in league one of the Welsh leagues (2nd division) they had recently been on the brink of folding as the artificial grass they played on was condemned mid season so had to play all games away from home. Then at the end of that season all the contracted first team left as did the manager. This ended up with a team of youngsters managed by a 24yr old that started the season by losing most weeks. They have since steadied the ship and started to get some results. They are now 11th, 5th from bottom and have managed to get a new pitch so have returned to home games. Hopefully the future is looking up.
I was going to get one when I was there at that beginning of December but to be honest, the quality made our kits look like they were made of pure silk!
Scarborough athletic. Genuinely wouldn't be able to be passionate or actually support another club near our level or above- I just don't get how people do it, each to their own though as long as its not Wednesday
No second team and I don’t buy into the ‘whoever is playing Wednesday/Leeds’ rhetoric either, especially when they are at a different level to us. I do look for Liverpool and Leicester’s results as my dad and grandad were supporters respectively.
Nobody that I actually look at on results day. Accrington Stanley used to be one but ah think it was more to do with the milk adverts than owt else..
I don ' t have second team. But when I was stationed at Kinloss I did go to watch inverness CT a good many times, and Forres Mechanics of the Highland League too.
I thought the one this season was quite decent quality wise, a step up from the previous seasons kit. Oh and they had every size in stock, I was a bit gutted I didn't have to wait til halfway through the season to receive it after an order through fanatics.
Thurlstone F.C. Play in the Barnsley Sunday League. I'm also club Secretary - So I have to support them.
Rochdale and Everton for family reasons. Wouldn’t say I was massively passionate about either but look out for their results and watch them when they’re on the telly etc. I do like to get to a few non league games a season. It’s good to throw them a few quid over the turnstile / pie stall / bar as many need all the support they can get. In fact I might pop over to Parkgate FC on Saturday as I’m only 10 minutes away since I moved and haven’t got down there yet.
