    The best thing for his development would have been staying there a full season and trying to get a promotion on his CV.

    I've seen Lofthouse on TNT Sports a couple of times this season and have been impressed with him.

    I can't imagine what level we're getting a defender from if they're happy to take someone on loan as a replacement who's been at Gateshead.

    I think Williams is off. And in all honesty, I'm not too bothered.

    EDIT - Just read the acompanying article, looks like he's going straight back out to somewhere higher up the pyramid.

    I still wouldn't be bothered if Williams went though haha!

    They're 5th in the National League, there's not much difference between bottom half L2 and top half National League. What level are you expecting our new recruits to come from

    Sadly I agree. For whatever reason he’s not the player he was. Even playing out of postion doesn’t cause the number of errors he makes per game.

    I hope he signs a contract extension and we can play him in his proper position. He's a good, experienced player, just having a bad time at the mo (too much responsibility - senior defender and team captain).

    Never been good enough. It's not his fault tho that he was used at Championship level for so long, like so many players who were out of their depth.

    Edit: Having now read the article he may be shipped out to EFL club probably in League Two?
