60 kids in Ponty stand during game = disgrace 6000 Newcastle fans stand at Sunderland all game and nothing gets said
Ages? It's a local derby and they haven't gone straight from coach seat to stadium seat. They would have had time in between to stretch their legs. Seems we get picked on for our minimal standing, whilst bigger sides get nothing done about them.
1200 of us stood at Peterborough all game, stewards and police didn't do owt. Away fans rarely get bother about standing, it's the same at Oakwell. I'm sure home fans at grounds other than Oakwell get grief too.
Not sure how Newcastle weren’t told to change their shirts. Maybe at pitch level the stripes are clearly different but watching on tv there’s an obvious clash.
Sunderland keeper can’t distinguish either! Yet another stupid tippy tappy move results in a goal. What are coaches thinking about encouraging keepers and defenders to make short passes in danger areas. It infuriates me when we do it but clearly it happens at all levels of the game. It’s just rank STUPIDITY!!
It's all pretty simple really, if you can't or don't want to stand up for 90 minutes at the game and a group in front stand up then the ones sat behind can't see. It has to be one or the other not both. If you want to put forward a vote for standing or sitting at matches then do so but I'm pretty sure 90% prefer to sit. The sitting ones generally have a bit of consideration for others. I would think this would be the same percentage for the geordies but as usual the minority spoil it for others. My father in law has stopped going to away matches because he can't stand for a full game and my youngest can't see the game.
The people in the front row of those standing clearly didn't need to stand to see the game, so their decision to stand, irrespective of the wishes of those behind them, was utterly selfish. Are you condoning selfish behaviour?
Apologies if I falsely accused those on the front row, I was on the 9th row up, so couldn't see the front row for all the people standing.
It's definitely you I'm afraid they've always played each other in the their home shirts and long may it continue. Never thought I'd rather make lunch than watch a football match in my life, the wife is a Mackem poor telly has had a right beating up.
I’m all for away teams playing in their home kit. Don’t like to see us changing to white or black for no good reason but these two were too similar, especially in the distant shots on television. Just find it odd that the ref said ok to it
It's definitely you I'm afraid, they've always played each other in the their home shirts and long may it continue You try telling Sunderland and Newcastle they've got to play in there away kit in a Wear Tyne derby they've been playing that way for 125 years bar a handful of games, it's never been an issue in all those years at either roker/ SOL or St James Park. The rivalry between these 2 is more than just football and for either not to play in traditional colours would be insanity to their supporters, it's not never going to happen trust me, the wife even shuns our cat we adopted 3 years ago somedays, he's black and white Up there with the biggest games in Britain
