Yep, they've had to invest a hell of a lot of money to keep us on an even keel.

I've read he's worth half of that, £250m. There's more than 10 teams in the Championship with billionaire owners.

They'll not make it to the Championship.

Apologies. I'd been on the West Coast IPAs all afternoon.

I don t fully agree and believe there is plenty of examples limits to free speech.
Also for people's mental wellbeing it is important to avoid where possible negativity and negative people.
You shouldn't really have to block ignore or leave a forum you love to avoid some people's so called right to post constant negative posts and threads.

Oh and I could add that we now sell the backbone of the team and the headcoach every season but I don't want to be a accused of being negative..

The ones I sampled, which were not Double IPAs, ranged from 5.2% to 6.9%.

Dig at the OWners mate we all know what can happen if everyone at the Club pulls the same way 97 was a fantastic achievement by Everyone involved at the Club, for us to have that repeated would be almost impossible without the full backing f the board and we all knows what that means

A lot of people refuse to acknowledge we have a different board now to Conway & Lee. I'd suggest they're trying to pull in the same direction as us fans mate. Yes they've made mistakes, but so do most owners. Last season they nearly got it spot on with Duff, Connell, Cadden, Isted, Norwood etc. This season they've separated the position of Dof & CEO and I think it's a positive step, we've got good fees for players unlike previous years selling them on the cheap. Personally, I think they're improving drastically on the Conway/Lee era and we as a club are moving forward. Communication needs to be better however, even though we have more fan forums with owners than probably any other club in the country. Based on what they've done and seemingly trying to do, I'm prepared to allow them more time before jumping down their throats. Putting Bobby as DoF was a grand idea. Fingers crossed they get this transfer window done well. Just my opinion

Thats the way it looks unfortunately, as long as they can feel good about themselves when we occasionally do sell somebody for a big profit.
On the pitch success (and Im referring to that word 'ambition' again) takes a back seat!.

But why would they feel good? They're still losing money, just makes no sense to suggest otherwise mate

Who has stopped him airing his views? Only Site Admin can do this and they obviously haven't. He is certainly allowed to say his piece. Then again, so is everyone else (whether that be one poster, or a hundred).
From a personal point of view, I don't agree with anything he says. C'est la vie.

That's definitely not towards the high side for the US! So many great beers over there, though my favourite when I'm in the States is definitely Bell's Two Hearted IPA. Just the 7%! Sadly nobody imports it to the UK, although it's not as if we're short of good brews here.

We are a league one team due to where we are. If the owners hadn’t put money in we’d be done. And they’re still doing it. The problem is other owners are willing to waste more money.

That's partly the problem you're right but I also firmly believe that if we were better at utilising the assets the club has available and maximising revenue then we would be able to achieve a similar financial position AND a better footballing position by focusing on a smaller squad with more value to the football team than taking punts on dozens of raw players in the hopes that we will command a good fee for one or two of them after a few years of employment.

I think our current method of apparent data led transfer activity focuses far too much on potential future resale value than it does on current ability and when you do that with players who have actually played very little football then what data are you really looking at? I believe it's largely physical based statistics, height, speed, raw strength etc and while that will inevitably work occasionally I think it's largely meaningless. Works for athletics, doesn't work for a sport in which the biggest assets a player can have are their heads and their hearts.

This isn't meant as a massive dig at our owners but Im just trying to say that while the intentions are good I think there's far too much focus on their way of data and future resale value being the correct way and it means that other things are ignored. Everything from signing 'oven ready' players to having a carpark thats more than a quarter full.

Hopefully the split into a director of football and a CEO will mean that one can focus on the obvious things though I am slightly worried that Jon Flatman has been in charge of revenue yet has seemingly overlooked so many key areas.

I agree but don’t. I think what you are saying is right and we could make marginal gains commercially/on the field. But I’m not sure these are things that move the needle much. That isn’t to say that these things arent worth improving but I think without (even more) significant investment we are where we are.
