Unexpected phone calls

    Coming down with a cold so went to bed early last night. Drifted off only to be woken by the phone going off next to my ear. Didn’t recognise the number. Picked it up and said “Hello.” Nothing prepares you for what comes next.

    A lass on the other end pours her heart out. “Samuel, I love you! I love you so much! I’ve loved you from the first time we met! Will you marry me?

    “Err… first thing… my name’s not Samuel… sorry... but you’ve got the wrong number.

    The silence at the other was crushing. Poor lass. One of the greatest moments of her life and she ends up proposing to me.

    My dad got one a few years ago from a sister he never knew he had - his dad had been married before he met my nan and had a daughter. She lives in Alicante now so we're ok for a few cheap holidays :)
