I agree that in the summer, there weren't enough 'ready made' replacements who came in. We needed to supplement every Lopata, De Gevigney and Shepherd with a slightly more experienced head (we did bring in McCart and do have McCarthy and Cundy albeit they seem a mile off the first team).

I don't mind Kitching’s departure. It was late in the window, but the money on offer was too much to refuse. I think McCart has been a good replacement, and was probably lined up as the replacement all along. We just don't know I guess.

The current board members who were on the board back then had a much smaller stake and therefore say in the day to day running of the club. Surely he was referring to Paul Conway, rather than Jean Cryne.

Appalling ,I dont think so.If you can take the highs and the lows we've had more good since those days.Promotions more Wembley visits than some teams will never see.Appalling seemd an odd word to use if you consider the bigger picture.

Whether we can get back to the Championship and be competitive again, that remains doubtful. And I still think if we'd beat them at Wembley, we'd have been where the Fowls have been all season long, in the drop zone.
Clubs like Preston and Luton especially have shown what can be achieved, if somebody of their size is run sensibly as a football club, and not simply as a money making exercise.

I didn't say anybody was, I meant its all about selling on our players and even our coaches for a hoped for profit these days.
Nobody stays long term anymore and we've built up this reputation for ourselves by doing this.

Of course you are. And I'm entitled to think it's an over exaggeration.
Both are just opinions, coming from people who most likely want the same thing in the end.

Preston are £77m in debt. Funded by numerous interest free loans from their owners, apparently they avoiding breaching ffp by £1m at the last count. So that's OK then.

Ramshackle ground. Incredibly poor match day experience. Transformation from a Championship regular to a yo yo club. Thrown out of the FA cup for admin errors. Investigated by FA. The sell off of catering etc lowering standards.

That’s the bigger picture. Results are temporary the fact our ground is falling down may not be.

Agents (comparatively for a club our size).

Other than large debts Preston have achieved nothing in modern times. Also Luton could afford to offer Morris more money than us whilst getting smaller gates. Of course there’s an argument for them gambling on getting to the Prem, but the counter argument is that getting to the Prem won’t set them up indefinitely.

Bournemouth and Brentford are only an owner change off being a Wigan or Reading.
