It's incredible how far beneath him that level is, and yet he's evidently not ready for the first team.

Next season will be his big year I reckon.

Never be ready only getting 10 minutes at a time.

He's actually only played less than 10 minutes in 3 of his 12 games this season. Take the Port Vale game for example. He got nearly 40 minutes in that (if you include injury time), and barring winning a free kick on the edge of his own box, he had very little impact on the game, and was part of the reason we were holding on at the end. I reckon we're managing him just fine at the minute, and there's no rush to push for him to play more regularly, certainly if it's to the detriment to the team.

That's one hellula selective stat. "take the Port Vale game for example"....and you proceed to pick the game he got by far and away his most minutes in, which was 36minutes, including the 10minutes of added time.
His other league appearances have been 8, 21, 6, 26 ( an assist for Watters ironically), 12, 5 and 18. An average much closer to the 10 minutes than your 40, I think we can discount the unknown amount of added time as its unknown when Collins deigns to add him.

I'm not gonna depress myself by looking at how many minutes Watters has had this season, suffice to say I'd guess its around 10x Jalo's for very little advantage.

His assist for Watters goal at Reading was quality.

How is it selective? I literally used every game he's played in this season and then picked one to use as an example. I'm not going through every game listing everything Fabio has done. I just don't see the need to rush him into the first team when clearly he's not ready for that yet.

I don't like the comparisons to other strikers. He's an 18 year old kid who we're slowly integrating into the first team. The rest are seasoned pro's who should be performing better, though Watters has barely had the run of games either, let's be fair.

It was remarkable mate, and my post wasn't trying to take anything away from what he has done so far this season.

Watters is still 4th on our goal scoring chart.

He's either started and been subbed, or come on as a sub in 20 of our 24 league games. Unless he gets preference over Cole or McAtee, god forbid, not sure how much more of a run he can get.

That Port Vale game, I got the distinct impression that no one wanted to pass to him. This impression does seem to have lessened as the season's gone on though.

I get that mate. I too am not sure he's the ready to start article. I find he tends to over try, (if that makes sense) when he comes on. Although I do understand calls for him to get starts. (A really difficult one for me). Re Reading I was gobsmacked how he managed to stay upright and cut inside for the assist. I had a great view.
As for the U21s team he certainly shines.

I think we can both agree then that Jalo probably gets the nod over Watters. I'd actually like to see Jalo get some game time alongside McAtee. I actually think we might see more from him then, as McAtee can sometimes be relentless.

I think that says how reliant we've been on Cole that watters is joint 4th top scorer with Barry Cotter who is a defender and also can't get a kick at the minute.

No need for that. It was an observation.
Big Vic banged them in for fun in the 18s / 23s. So is Fabio.

That is all. I'll make judgements on his senior career when he's ............ more senior. In the meantime I hope we continue to manage him wisely.

I don't remember any of Europe's top clubs sniffing around Big Vic. Their scouts see a lot more than we do, and I would assume know a lot more about the game as well, especially with regards to which young players are likely to make it to the very top.

You must be thinking of someone else. Vic was a youth player at Leyton Orient and went on to play for their first team. He was nearly 20 when he signed for us.
