Some interesting things I’ve read within this, I don’t mind her nor the board but admittedly they could do better in certain aspects. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/barnsley-vfiles-quay-directors-womens-31813433
One slight quibble about Barnsley, women and fashion. Had the reporter done her homework she would have realised that Barnsley was home to the fashion icon Rita Britton whose Polyanna store attracted people from all over.
Didn't understand a word of it. "The dichotomy is not as aggressively head-wagging as Barbenheimer. Even so, the notion of a footballing fashionista certainly takes on a double life. A quasi-superhero. Parisian runways and psychedelic fashion democracy by morning, Bovril and Puma tracksuits by 3pm."
i completely agree , what a weird article ! Finished off the with the usual cryptic comment of wanting to tell the fans more but we can’t because we are under NDA.
Love that they also left out that the launch of that kit was one of the worst in my whole time of supporting Barnsley including when we went into administration.
Interesting article. I do wonder how long she'll be around for though. Her starting position when asked 'why Barnsley' was 'why not'? I suspect a couple of years on, she would now be able to reel off a few reasons.
I once went to a Supporter's Club meeting when John Dennis was guest and he was asked about bringing in foreign investment. His response was that a few years down the line the foreign owner would be lying in bed asking why he was going to Oakwell and from there it was a short step from asking why he needed to be involved in Barnsley FC at all.
As an initial investor she could have walked away same as Conway and Chien Lee but she decided to stay and up her stakes financially into the club. For me that says a lot about the women and her input in to BFC. Like a few have said shes a breath of fresh air. I think most Barnsley people like her forthright attitude which is abundant in our town ,for example when getting some pelters from the anti American/foreinger at the latest meeting."I'm Australian not American" .She obviously calls a spade a spade.
But l bet it's the best selling shirt since the Prem season, available in more areas than just the club shop and far more social media coverage (from all over the world) than all of our past 10 seasons kits put together. And the red shorts look far better than white.
With the comments about other shareholders talking to her about some of her comments clearly suggests it’s not just an act either.
If she can get Rihanna to come down to Oakwell I’ll be happy. Got a seat next to me in the east stand she can have.
