    Wednesday after Cole…..nearly signed for them in summer but Tuna King wouldn’t pay any more wages than Barnsley are paying him……

    Radio Dee Dar says they’re signing Ike Ugbo (remember him) so can’t see them coming for Cole or paying the fee we’d require to let our top goal scorer go midway through a campaign when we’re eyeing the playoffs.

    We probably thought the same about Toney when we had him on loan as well.

    He looks like he's had a better career than Cole, younger too.

    Scored 16 in 32 in the top Belgian league in 2021
    Then got his move to the top French league and scored 4 in 15 in 2022.
    Last year his stats were bad but still playing in the top French league.
    This year got his move to Cardiff where his stats improved slightly but I can see why they'd be open to selling him.

    With the looks of it many people outside Barnsley would choose Ugbo over Cole.

    There’s no substance to this article though. It isn’t “the Yorkshire Post understands Barnsley are in talks with…” it’s just an opinion piece with the journalist naming players who he believes are available and how likely the are to go to Barnsley.

    My point is they’re not rumours though. They’re a journalist stating these players are available.

    A rumour would be a claim we are interested in a player.

    Still don’t think the Norwood deal was that complicated.

    He didn’t want to go but we wouldn’t give him the 3 contract he wanted due to his age so ultimately he decided to go & take the contract on offer from Oldham.

    There's been a mountain of contradictory tripe posted on here about Norwood's departure, but if yours is in the edible tray then we did right not to give him a 3 year contract if that was his demand. If we by some blessed miracle got promoted then he'd be instant costly deadwood.
