£25 for the item. £4.95 for delivery. 99p for ‘handling’ to cover warehouse costs. First time I’ve ever seen in my life that a customer has to pay for warehouse costs on top of the item and delivery. Absoutely rip off, whether it’s next to nothing or not.
I assume it's what Matalan call it when they charge you 99p to pick up your on line order worlds gone mad.
It's just another way so they can keep the RRP cost down but increase prices. Personally I'd rather just see one price and that's that, but I've heard companies try to spin it that there being transparent with rising costs.. yeah right
I'm just trying to get tickets for Stevenage. Processing fee £2 ... when did that become a thing? Should I buy from the shop?
agreed. I’ve just bought tickets for the Royal Albert Hall this morning and paid a £15 handling fee. Ridiculous!
I do find all this a bit weird. The price of pretty much everything you pay for, includes overheads across the supply chain. At some point, someone decided companies needed to start showing certain costs separately, in order to be 'transparent'. In many cases all that actually does is wind people up, who think they're being ripped off. For me personally, £35 including delivery is much easier to process, than £25 plus £2.50 processing fee plus £2.50 merchant fee plus £5.00 shipping.
