    That's a bit strange isn't it? An 18 year old bloke with a job at a world famous company in Manchester goes on work experience at a small company in Yorkshire

    If I'm not mistaken, it's quite common. Basically it's just a youth loan, players 17 & older on a professional contract will go out on loan, players that age who aren't on a pro contract will go out on loan to other youth academies and it's considered work experience. Can be used to see how they do away from home, on their own, with other players, getting their name out of there for, working with specific coaches etc.

    Not sure if that's correct, but it's something I got told a while ago...
