Does anyone think because the club have been quite all week that he will be paraded on the pitch this aft ?
Why not, if he's match fit, might start. Remember Kieth Curl played for us, as far as I recall, no one knew we had signed him.
To answer the thread question specifically it is actually possible that some people may think he is likely to get paraded on the pitch....So, its a yes from me even though I think he wont be
He was in the Pavilion in town last night. He’s obviously been around the club for the last 3 or 4 days so I reckon his signing could be announced today.
I’d be surprised if he’s match fit. As far as I’m aware, he hasn’t played since October so whoever he signs for I’d imagine he may need a bit of a “mini pre-season” before starting games.
Collins said he would need some time to get match fit. Which considering we really need someone to plug and play straight away I’m surprised we are not looking at other targets anyway as it will take him some time to get match fit and then getting to grips with uk football.
Could be another Larry May event. I remember he came down the tunnel smiling and waving at the crowd. Think he signed on the pitch before kick off. Was a brilliant addition to our defence. Could happen again?
In true Barnsley style he will be paraded on pitch only for us to be told on Monday he is injured but will hopefully be fit for the play offs in May.
Other targets may not be available till the last day. At least he would be able to fit in with the training. And get to know the players. That is if he signs of course. It would answer also why he went back home to think about it. And put his affairs in order.
Larry May was awesome for us, ask Wendy's about him ,they hated him ,those I've spoke to say we had their trousers down. Not the first time though. I suppose they can say they got David Hurst
Would make sense. I guess Pines fits the bill in terms of physical attributes and price range so can see why we are focusing on him. Let’s hope he does sign and he’s worth it. I think he will be.
More and more now the deals are being done at the end of the window - teams assess their squad and release the players who need to get game time especially if they've managed to get their targets. Clubs also seem reluctant to let players go especially if they are a shout for something ( I know we have let them go in the past )
If it was going to happen, I was expecting it to happen at the press conference on Thursday, but I would settle for today. Looks to be what we need, but may need a week or so to get up to speed.
IF he signs, there's more chance of it being announced on them big screens in Time Square than on the Oakwell turf before a game.
