I think it sounds extremely unlikely for a multitude of reasons! Not that I'd be against it.

Chairman at fans forum said Oldham offered him.more than League 1 money. Can't see us paying over the odds to potentially disrupt athe team

Is he what we need? I'm not sure rather we sign the lad from Blackburn on loan who was at Plymouth last season.

I'd love him back - exactly what we need to help Cole (or that kind of player is).

No way it happens though - but we do need the old hairy arse striker I think.

Totally agree that he'd be a good addition for the here and now which is all that really matters if we are serious about getting promoted. As for the hairy arse striker McAtee is filling that role nicely to be fair and probably not a hair in sight :D

Just to add to this - its this type of player we need. Some fans just look in the goals column and think that's the B all end all. Its not. Look how good Owen was with Heskey for England - and Heskey couldn't score in a brothel.

The work Norwood (or that kind of player) did was completely needed - the dirty, spade work to allow other to flourish. Cole has done really well this year and has improved his finishing - but he's also had to run his blood to water on many occasions, where a Norwood style player would certainly help him.

Its good to see that most fans understand this and the type of player we need to be honest. Quite refreshing.

All opinions but I'd much rather we sign a player who's going to chip in with more goals to help Cole. Coles scored 15 now the next top scorer for us is macatee with 6 league one goals we need a player to chip in with more goals.
It also abit silly that we let Norwood go brought in watters and Cosgrove and 6 months later trying to get Norwood back. Unless it's because khaled is off.
Norwoods best game in a barnsley shirt was the game at Wembley where he chased the ball for nearly minutes cramping at the end. He rarely lasted a full 90 minutes ever. If he comes back he does but I don't think macatees place is under much threat if he comes.

I think all this was said and discussed on a previous Norwood thread.
When we signed him, I don't think goals were the only attribute we were looking for. As others have said, it was that horrible hairy ar*sed striker who never gave up, and ran all over the place.
And I really think we/the team miss him.
