I chose Green Bay as it's a cold, backwards shithole in the North of the country and i could therefore identify with it best.
A good thanksgiving day win for Green Bay yesterday, away at pesky Detroit lol. Maybe they are getting into the Nfc Play off race now, even without uncle Aaron!. And our player DaRon Bland set a new Nfl record, of IT's run back for TD's (if you know what that means).
Yessss get in there, we've taken a big heavy stick to Philadelphia and really kicked their a*rses tonight lol. Come on Dallas.
I set an alarm to get up and watch it. Slept through it, which turned out to be a great outcome. Eagles had been the most unconvincing 10-1 team in history, so the last two weeks have been something of a regression to the norm. Would have preferred Dallas not to have been one of the teams to beat us though. Sigh, enjoy the moment!
The Eagles managed to end the regular season looking like they were being coached by Poya Asbhaghi. From an (admittedly unconvincing) 10-1 start, they've managed to limp into the 5th seed spot to face an away wild-card game at Tampa Bay, where I fully expect them to complete a '1 and done' play-off season. Dallas opened the door a couple of times to let them back in, and we politely closed it again each time. Personal loyalties aside, this looks like it could be a really wide open post-season. Different teams have stood out at different stages of the season, but no-one has looked completely convincing. 49ers are probably the closest to it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they slip up somewhere along the way. Even though they're technically still in the frame, I've given up hope completely on the Eagles making it through, so I'm now fully behind my 2nd team of 'anyone but Dallas' for the Superbowl.
Yeah get in there, we/Dallas are the Nfc East champions again. And we host Green Bay next week in the Play offs, which is a match against his old team, for our head Coach Mike McCarthy. I wish we were playing Washington or N.Y Giants every week though, because we just keep on battering the pair of em lol. And Philly go from 10-1 to 11-6, cry Eagles cry.
Ok now it's the Nfl Play offs 1st round this weekend. Credit to San Francisco and Baltimore as the top teams in each Conference, so they get a week off (the lucky sods lol). AFC: Houston v Cleveland Kansas v Miami Buffalo v Pittsburgh NFC: Detroit v L.A Rams Tampa Bay v Philadelphia Dallas v Green Bay So bring it on and let the games begin ehh lol.. come on Dallas.
First announcement re 2024 London games made today. Bears and Vikings have home games at White Hart Lane, along with the usual Jags game at Wembley. Opponents will be announced at a later stage.
Hey Sheriff mate, what angers me here is that Jacksonville have a game in London every year, even though nobody gives a toss about them.
Jacksonville sell out every time they come here. They are super popular for giving up at least one prized home game every season, when you only get eight anyway.
Yeah right, they are 'super popular' as you call it, because one or more of the Nfl Uk members is a fan. And they keep on insisting on them visiting us for a game every year. Sod that!!.
Its even worse now, as to retain your rights to a season ticket renewal, you have to sign up and buy them via Union Jax, and by default give them the ammo to say 'we have thousands of registered fans in the UK, please turn us into a UK franchise'. They might pick up a few new fans each year, but they misunderstand the UK mindset if they think anyone is going to give up an existing loyalty in favour of them.
Oddly enough, I'm still laughing at this match, which is a weird feeling after such a Play off loss. It reminds me of us going 0-5 behind against Milton Keynes at Oakwell some years ago, and then getting 3 'consolation' (if there is such a thing) goals back lol.
I suspect it's only a 24 hour thing, but I'm thrilled that our season has outlasted the Cowboys' one yet again. The Packers schemed their defence brilliantly, and Love managed a perfect passer rating of 158.3 (only the Americans could come up with a scoring system like that). A classic example of a team sneaking into the playoffs upsetting the form book.
So your season outlasted ours did it, because you got to play your game the following night after us lol. Err that's a good one Sheriff kid, I'll have to remember that. Seriously though, neither of us showed up here when it mattered did we, and another season passes our teams by. Credit then to all the winning teams this weekend, its going to be interesting watching the rest of the season as a neutral!.
