Remember when we signed Michael Boulding the second time.. think he got a couple of goals in a preseason friendly against us on the Queen's ground for someone. Don't think we played him tho so he couldn't have been the manager at the times pick.. Was it Robins?
Is there seriously nobody better out there? He could only last 60 minutes before, what will it be down to now? 45 minutes?
I imagine this is ********. We should never have let him go, but now he has gone, should we fetch him back? Probably not, as there will be better longer term options out there. Having said that, Dallas, Watters and Cosgrove were the last 3 longer term option strikers they brought in, so maybe it would be better fetching Norwood back, as we know what we’d be getting, and we’d be getting something the rest of out strikers don’t offer, not to mention more goals that the others are managing. Norwood and Cole, with McAtee just behind them would be a great attacking line up in this division.
I’d also like to think there is better out there. That said, IMO even 45 minutes would still be significantly better than an entire season of Max Watters cameos. FWIW I think it’s a totally made up non-story like.
Has anyone considered what Oldham may think about this. Sounds like they forked a bit of money out on Norwood, and his goals have them just outside the play-offs. A club like Oldham shouldn’t really be in the Conference (I know, you are where you deserve to be, etc, but you know what I mean), so their priority is to get the club out of that league, and they’re not likely to achieve that by letting their top scorer leave in January.
I wouldn't want him back. But, once he got shut of his excess weight he'd p155 90 minutes at the pace most of our forwards play. Reason he lasted 60 minutes was he gave his all. Due to the managers tactics. Wembley was a prime example. Run his blood to watter when he came on. Did more in 45 minutes than others in 90. We had 2 great wingers in Bullock and Marselle. Instructed at times to give their all 45 minutes each. The full back marking em absolutely bolloxed. Trying to keep up.
I'd say that the only way hed end up back here is if ether Cole or McAtee leave.. and comes back as a 'sugar pill' for the fans..
Seems like sensible planning in case Cole does go, which would more than likely be at the end of the transfer window.
