Last summer I had doubts about Cole, but he’s changed my mind, and some. He’s had a great season, scored all kinds of goals and has put a lot of work in, week in week out, pressing and defending from the front.
Daft thing is Jay. I don't watch our penalties. (Daft superstition) For around the last 25yrs I disappear when we get one, Bugger off to the toilet, (I do seem to recollect that incident, I either saw it on TV later or was told.) That is unless we are so well in front. Last 2 I've watched were Donny away in pizza trophy and Forest Green away. (Players Missed both) Even mi mates and family applaud me when I get back to mi seat lol.
Fantastic player Higgy, just didn’t stay with us long enough. If he had he’d have been revered like Glavin and Redfearn.
Imagine a midfield of Ronnie. Banksy. Redders and Higgy. None of em would have passed to the other lol.
Banks was possibly the best passer I've ever seen at Oakwell. Bearing in mind that I only saw him in his second spell when he spent most of his time being abused for being slow and fat! His earlier incarnation must have been incredible.
He's definitely matured and got better this season, I had my doubts when Norwood left he'd be able to replicate last season let alone better it. Scored all types of goals this season and made goals out of nothing which is the sign of a good striker, his runs and intelligence have come on leaps, possibly helped having John Stead on the coaching staff well done Devante
You've hit the nail on the head. He could land the ball on a sixpence 50+ yards away. One of my favourite players of all time. Dare I say 2nd only to Ronnie. But a close thing. Almost every goal he scored was worth the attendance money alone. My favourite goal ever. From any player, v Cardiff . League cup winner in injury time. 40 yarder, edge of centre circle. Made my hair stand on end. Most had left the ground after Cardiff equalised a few minutes prior. He used to cover a lot for Chambers when he (Chambers) linked up play with Ronnie. I dont think Chambers got the praise he deserved. A brilliant reader of the game was Banksy. The Goal I mention stemmed from a corner we got and Banksy dropped back to let the big lads go up and it got cleared by the defence. Everyone ran for cover when he let fly.
Never been able to find owt mate. McNally the ref booked players for fun in the last half hr. 10 I think. (Got done for insurance fiddle later on) but yes 3-2. Cardiff equalised in or just before injury time. Most of Crowd left. Then came the stunner.
Right I challenge your midfield 4 with Gynn Thomas, Alan Little, McHale and Shez.. with Kenny Burns on the bench watching on.. See who comes out on top As Danny Wilson once said it's only the fans that want to fill the team attackers, you have to defend as well.. (take note recruitment team)

I remember that one well I think that was the game where Cardiff equalised well into injury time in the days when not much was usually added. Utter despair! I assumed it was going to finish level but we got a corner straight from the kick off - headed clear to Banger who hit it first time in off the underside of the bar. Utter jubilation! Its the sort of goal that makes all the boring 0-0 and defeats worthwhile
What exactly did he say. Eg. Has any club shown interest or made enquiries. Told to fekk off with insulting offers. . Would love him to stay personally.
I think there is very brief footage on line but the cameraman missed the winner and all you could see was the celebrations. You could still hear the crossbar rattling though.
Out of the three clubs ‘linked’ with him the only one that made sense to me from a purchasing club perspective was Huddersfield. Both Hull & Cardiff are within touching distance of the play offs and a league one striker as the person to fire you into the play offs would be strange and as a fan uninspiring.
