Lots of talk around the profit and sustainability rules in the PL at the min with Everton facing upto another 2 charges, Nottingham Forest's crazy spending and just the 115 charges against city, huge ramifications on the league table at both ends. Talksport had some financial litigation boffin on this morning saying Everton bang to rights based on the accounting, forest tried to move brennan Johnsons actual transfer to a fictitious date in this years accounting and the can of worms around city. Stating FFP finally starting to work Man utd, Chelsea, Arsenal all cutting wages and transfer spend massively down. Some big big decisions to be made by the governing bodies I suspect they won't have the backbone when faced with expensive lawyers to dish out the proper punishments some of these clubs deserve, had to laugh when head of the PL Richard Marsters said we've set a date for the Man City mess .....but were not telling you come on pull the other one, where's the transparency and what's to hide are you waiting on final league places? City win the league by 10pts then deducted 9pts. Laughable
As long as any industry applauds itself on allowing *only* £105m of debt over three years then it deserves everything that comes it's way. Absolutely laughable.
I'll repeat what's already been said countless times, City's alleged rule breaking is completely different to what Everton and Forest have been punished for. To clarify, as its grinding my gears reading and listening to uninfored commentary about why City aren't being relegated blah blah blah mostly from the Man Ure, Liverpool and Arsenal jealous & frustrated types. City are charged with 4 breaches of financial fair play: inflating commercial revenues, not disclosing player and manager renumeration, not fully cooperating with the requirement for disclosure of documentation and a disparity in player sales income against player purchases. The reason why its 115 charges is it covers a period over 10 years. Putting aside the not sending documentation in a timely fashion (slap on the wrist at worst for over 40 of the charges), the accusation about over inflating commercial revenue doesn't stand up cos the Etihad sponsorship deal signed 10 years ago now looks a bargain. The accusations around renumeration pf players and managers (Mancini namely) ate based on email evidence exfilitratedfrom the City email system, complely not admissiable in court and if the PL use the evidence they'll have to disclose where it came from and City will have the right to court redress ie threaten to sue the PL. I except those charges to get dropped as the PL can't risk bankruptcy from a legal lose of earnings claim - £300millon plus City earned last year FYI. The imbalance in sales to purchases date back to pre the new FFP rules and a president was set when Chelsea did the same in the same period and had a transfer embargo applied and a fine. In summary, City won't skip a beat, they'll continue to dominate football for the next decade and beyond, so Goodbridge Robbie fan boy et al 'Stop crying your eyes out.....'
It's some leap to try and paint Man City as the good buys in all this, I'll give you that. Forests defence is based on the Brennan Johnson sale. They're something like 10m over the threshold and sold Johnson on transfer deadline day for 47m. The financial period runs till the end of July, bit Forest are using a rejected bid from Brentford of 30m to say they "could" have sold him and been in the parameters. Its bizarre. The same way, Everton did sell Richarlison before the end of July date and so we're OK. But that then means that this year, they're above the threshold. The rules are batsht. The clubs are batsht.
Another headline grabber, given air time because its City, relegation won't happen I repeat the PL won't want to go to court and disclose where their evidence came from and potentially admit breaking the law, if they were to lose in court they'd be bankrupted by the loss of earnings and defamation claim. This whole thing is driven by a bias towards the established big 4 clubs, they can't stand being so far behind City and isn't it so unfair that they win everything they must be cheating. I'll speculate that City will offer to accept a transfer embargo on 2 windows a large fine and to save PL face a 3-6point deduction. Anymore than that it'll rumble on and it'll be 4 league titles in a row, never done before, more crying and bairning etc
I can't wait to visit Citehs ground next season when we're both in the championship. 13 years of success and still in the red half of Manchesters shadow it would seem...
'Old Trafford is falling down....Glazers staying 10 more years...' Drive into Manchester it's like there is only one football club in the City. Sports City, its like Old Trafford doesn't exist anymore. Not even on the England Euro bid to host games, startimg to look a bit like Hillsborough. Compare getting piss wet through under the leaky roof to th3 Etihad which from next season will have the largest single tier stand in Europe, bigger than Dortmund, alongside the Coop arena which will be the largest indoor venue in Europe. Stuck in the past, stuck with the Glazers, Noisy neighbours, not in my lifetime etc' hahaha time to go Fergie Old lad there's a new greatest ever manager 'We've got...Guadiola we've got, Guadiola...'
Crikey, think you're on the wrong forum mate, it was a bit of a conversation not a time to nip upstairs and put the city shirt on and start kissing the badge...and breathe
Like fishing in a barrel with these top 4 supporters from Barnsley, they defend their teams more than actual locals do. P.S Guardiola would have to do a lot more than just winning trophies with the best team in the division to be considered greater than Fergie.
The North Stand wont be single tier, they are extending the second tier, and it certainly wont be bigger than Dortmund
Not true. That's another common myth about Man City. Fact is that attendances at the Etihad over the last... Oh, wait. I'm a Barnsley fan.
United are done, mid table team, ground falling apart, fans living in the past, as a manger, love watching the fans squirm Goodridge especially I search for his YouTube coverage after every Man Ure defeat it gets me aroused.
'It's only 6-1 it's only 6-1 60,000 empty seats it's only 6-1. The City is ours, The City is ours, f.uc,koff back to London, the City is ours'
Ironically, Man City have the highest attendance in the history of English football, other than a couple of Wembley attendances, think they're 3rd after 2 Wembley counts..
