Just been on radio our glorious former leader hid in the toilets when the Belgian club fans disgruntled decided they wanted to confront him about performance of the club.
It's online. Can't post a link. A group of disgruntled fans trapped a Belgian football club’s American owner in a restroom after blaming him for their team’s fall from grace. Paul Conway, co-founder of investment firm Pacific Media Group, said he was targeted by a “planned action with about 15 ultras trespassing in the VIP section” at KV Oostende’sgame last weekend against high-flying SV Zulte Waregem.
our current owners aren't perfect, however I often remind myself that they saved us from the very existential threat, of Chien Lee and Paul Conway
Probably the biggest example in a long list of examples of the current board making a massive balls up by signing on the dotted line and installing Conway as chairman in the first place before realising their mistake and making moves to correct it.
Just came on the car, presenters were laughing about it. No link to Barnsley the station was a 90’s DAB station.
But they did correct it. That's the bit I'll be ever grateful for. I personally don't dwell too much on why they chose to put Conway in. I knew nothing about him. From memory I don't recall any warning signs at the time, and I don't recall too much dissent from fans. The opposite, if anything. What's most important to me personally is that they recognised the problem and found a way to deal with it as soon as they could, which no one really saw coming at the time.
Only the Crynes were on the board when that happened. Neerav was essentially a minor shareholder and JAQ had no voting rights as she was part of Conway's group. The Crynes always had a spot on the board because of their class of shares, but Neerav was easily outvoted by Lee and Conway as they had a clear controlling majority of that class of shares.
