You seem unable to see the funny side. Nevermind.

I'm a bit late to the party here but I have read the thread and am wracking my brains trying to think of a scenario where I would need a lock that doesn't actually lock because with a bit of pressure, it unlocks.

Nope - still can't think of one.

I had a rusty old padlock on an old shed, couldn't get the key to turn with all kinds of lubrication.....
Anyway, ended up having to take part of the door off to get in. If I'd had this invention and a bit of pressure would have got me in, it'd have been a lot less faffing.
    Top idea.
    Count me in.

I could just about imagine an emergency exit gate in a football stadium, which is normally locked but will open when the pressure on it exceeds a certain amount. For example, if we were 3-0 down at half time having had a man sent off.

The only thing I could think of was a kids bedroom where they want a lock for privacy but can be overridden in an emergency.

Reckon it's solving a problem that doesn't exist though.

I think similar locks must already exist. Basically like a small panic/exit lock?

This is a great lock idea. Saves having to use a safe word.

the gates on our patio at work have something similar fitted. They can only be opened from the inside but also only when forced. If anyone did so just to nip to their car or summat I think there would be questions asked why.

So presume there is a need for such a lock
    But obviously one already exists

Maybe one does but not for wat am wanting to do,am also wanting to control it with a key fob I think that's the word, like you open a car,I'd really lv to get everybody's feed back am dying to tell and am sure I'd get some ideas off some of you but imagine if I told and fowls did it,do you think I'd get some abuse for telling lol I've some things to sort out and once am reight am sure I'll get a chance to speak to someone at club, reggie reggie sauce guy he got investment off Peter Jones I'm not greedy I'll make money aswell selling it so will other salespeople who will av to employ,I need help putting the thing together but I'll be able to explain it easy enough,I understand who ever helps gonna want a chunk but am not gunna make as much cos I truly want the football club to make millions, the business would be the sponsors I think that would cover the ffp, curnal Sanders had a chicken recipe he approached restaurants said I can make great chicken for you but I want a percentage, owners were like a can make my own chicken why would I want to have to pay you,so he kept changing his approach,he had over a thousand no"s before he got his first yes, look at KFC na,I will get there just hope it's with us.i used to listen to Antony Robbins tapes, anybody with any ambition, start with his first tapes it was like having a coach,I was doing really well for myself, crap happens and I lost my way, sorry if I've bored anybody but I like people to do well too, think I'll write a book, lol

Is this whole thing a wind-up? I genuinely didn't think so before this post but now I'm not so sure...

I tend to just always assume stupidity rather than malice but that last post was just too over the top ridiculous
