As its been named across various media sources, anyone suffering from it? My goodness, 2 weeks in now with bouts of uncontrollable dry coughing to the point of throwing up. Tried all the cough medicine going, green tea with honey, ginger and paracetamol. No cold symptoms or phlegm just a non stop cough causing banging headaches from straining, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Anybody else suffering or any tips? I heard its linked to whooping cough virus but not sure.
I've had something for about 3 months and not sure exactly what it is but I currently have pneumonia and a collapsed lung as a result. Not been right since I had covid in early October.
Yeah. Me and the Mrs have had it and it may just in last few days seems to have gone. Been an absolute nightmare, thinking we were just passing it back and forth to each other. Until I heard the term 100 day cough. Nothing shifted it, and she even had a course of antibiotics and it didn't touch it. So it looks like one of those you just have to ride through it
Yeah some doctors not even giving antibiotics out now, saying it's a viral infection and keep treating it with paracetamol etc, whatever it is I've experienced nothing like it before.
Thank you, it isn't as bad as it sounds it is just one lobe of my right lung. I am off work this week for the first time with it as trying to shake it, but amoxicillin has done sweet fa. My bloods came back clear too so no signs of my body fighting something so its a very weird one. Got to have another x ray in a month to see if it has recovered.
I've had a cough since New Years Day. Thought it had gone on Monday but after my afternoon nap I had to clear my chest again. Must be getting better though because there isn't as much phlegm. Now I've started with aches and pain in my ribs.
It serves me right my Dad had it and rather than walking to work I got lazy and let him drop me off on his way to work. It was only a matter of time before I copped for it.
Blimey All the best with that on your plate Not in your league, but got summat before Xmas that had me coughing for 3 weeks and feeling rotten for much longer Very similar to the Covid I got - and as bad It goes ……..eventually……but only after coming back once or twice Anyway, hope you speedily recover
I had summat similar in the autumn, just couldn’t stop. Finally got an xray done, turns out I had an infection on my lung. 5 days of antibiotics and I was sorted.
Can I ask was it just a dry constant cough that just wouldn't stop, wondering whether to go for an x Ray, just been hoping it would clear up but after 2 weeks it's just the same really
I was told the same. TBF, mine has just cleared up over time but it's taken ages. I still get the odd coughing fit a few times a week though.
Crikey looks like I need to prepare for the long haul, not too concerned it's anything sinister as the wife and some friends all the same. Regards Redfearns Long Haul no relation to MLH
Mine started in last week of November felt crap for a week , bad chest , coughing mucus up the usual signs of a cold . Symptoms started to go but then came back lasted 5 days again and went away , this seemed to happen right up untill last week , hopefully I've got over it now but ya never know .
Mine started 1st of Jan the day we played Wigan, never had a cough like it in my life, sore throat blocked nose the lot.Felt shocking for a fortnight and still having coughing fits after 4 weeks but nowhere near as bad.Hopefully its clearing but very slowly.
I know people who couldn't shake off the symptoms for ages and when they did they came back within a month.
