Just realised he is the OP of the Bibby Stockholm thread that made comments then stood back and left it all to kick off. Another one for the mounting ignore list...
Yes, indeed. Not sure I'd be feeling very forgiving if any of my family or friends had been similarly murdered.
Because murder is a crime of specific intent and due to his schizophrenia (as evidenced by five separate consultant psychiatrists' reports) he was incapable of forming that intent. Hence the pleas accepted by the Prosecution of manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility.
He's unlikely to ever get out of the secure mental hospital anyway. (If you watched the entire sentencing) So, what's your point?
His family should be the last people to ask. There's a reason you don't see victim's families sat on juries.
Clearly, based on the interviews given by the victims families, they feel completely let down by the CPS amongst others and multiple failings on the part of other government bodies. Dress it up how you like but ultimately this is an appalling crime and God knows what those poor families are going through!
I think I’ll trust the opinions of the numerous medical experts on this particular one. And given he’s been told he’ll likely be in a top security medical unit for the entirety of his life, as he isn’t medically compliant and a danger to society, what more exactly did you want? The families would have liked a murder conviction rather than manslaughter. I get that. But he’s very clearly mentally unstable, and has been locked away from society. Forever. Can’t really demand more than that surely?
I know you don't like immigration but have you ever thought of emigrating? I think Somalia has a "justice" system you would like.
