That's what happened to me. The worst bit was the fluid on the lungs, which only cleared with the antibiotics.
I’m in the middle of this now. Was unwell beginning of Jan for a week then got better and was fine for a week or so. Then I got really badly with stuffy nose for a week, thought I was getting better Monday but then the cough hit and feel rubbish again. Just sick of it now.
Hope it's gone for good for you now. I think that's what is worse that when it's gone after weeks and weeks you think FINALLY and assume it's over, but then returns.
Had a cough/ chest infection weezing for 3 weeks, tried everything, went to the docs and he said what can I do about it, WTF, ISaid you're the doctor do I need to see a mechanic then ( didn't appreciate that, I'm glad he didn't tbh) gave me an inhaler, after a further week i binned it, went through the medicine box and found about 5 days of antibiotics, 4 days later I was top drawer, not saying do this but it worked for me
It was every type of cough to be honest, kept changing so felt like different viruses. Never had owt like it. By the end it was a cough where it just catches you as you breathe in and it’s an immediate reaction that you can’t stop.
Been to the respiratory specialist today after having a cough sonce September. Following on from a hrct scan Ive now been booked in for a camera down into the lungs for a rummage around. Oh joy.
The coughs all I’m left with after feeling unwell since Christmas Day. Never visited GP but felt like a chest infection I’d had before. Laughing seems to start it off most so I avoid watching Wendy’s highlights.
One of the worst experiences of my life having the camera down my throat. My grandma convinced me you couldn’t feel it the lying toad.
You can av summat that calms you down before camera, nurses will try to talk you out of it,ie say if you drive you'll av to wait maybe up to an hour, which was 10mins for me,I gip really easy which was making me grab hold of it,its thick, scary for me had it 3 times, everybody's different my mum had it thought nothing of it.
Yep just said plenty of fluid which I daily drink 2 litres of water and treat with paracetamol, just said lots of different viral infections going about, if cough persists or blood come back
If you can. Take codeine based pain killers. There's something in codeine that alleviates the tickle that prompts you to cough. It might reduce the strain of coughing.
100 day cough (if that is what people actually have) is the adult version of whopping cough. It's a bacterial infection of the lungs and you should be taking a course of antibiotics. Antibiotics don't usually ease the symptoms but they do stop it from spreading. It can be serious in young children, pregnant women and immunocompromised.. so visiting the GP and getting treatment is important to protect others.
