Cosgrove should be starting ahead of Watters at least he has a bit of size about him. Shepherd just isn’t ready at all yet, surely we can play Lopata in the middle and MDG can do a job on the left side?? Russell was terrible today so lazy
If he’s goosed after 25 minutes of training, he can sit out some of the session, before he breaks down. Doesn’t have that luxury in a match
He’s a million times a better option than Watters. Made a massive difference second half. However his finishing has been woeful I give you that.
Connell should have started. If he then needed to come off after 25 minutes then fine, maybe we'd have been one nil up and had a bit of a cushion. Maybe he might even have felt good to continue for another 5 minutes or 10 or 15 or even the entire 90. By sitting him on the bench and only bringing him on with 25 minutes to go you are guaranteeing that he's only playing 25 minutes regardless of how fit he's feeling after those 25. You're also giving the team an uphill battle trying to recover from yet another job Russell **** show.
If you’re criticising him for not starting Connell you’re being an idiot. It shouldn’t need stating that he was a doubt before the match & he’s only giving him as long as he’s been advised he's got in him. Do you honestly think he’s choosing to start Russell over Connell as some sort of tactic? It’s needs must
Shouldn’t have been on the bench then and if you say that it’s needs must it just shows that we are short of players who are good enough Who’s fault is that?
Difficult to know where to start really. Temptation is to overreact because we’ve lost. Teams lose football matches. But some of the players on that pitch, IMO are simply not good enough at this level. Max Watters is one the worst strikers I’ve seen for us. He offers absolutely nothing for me, and we’ve got him for 4 years. It’s a real worry for me, if he’s starting. Jon Russell - awful. Has 1 good game in 10. O’Keefe, really poor. Cosgrove, awful. Literally has to have the ball dropped at his feet in front of an open goal, to score.
