Then you know that you will largely be bypassing it and playing the long ball. So why the **** would anyone with half a brain start watters up front instead of Cosgrove?
I don't think it's about being clever. He's just a really poor manager who has had more luck than a lucky thing in lucky land to be constantly putting out substandard performances but scraping results against teams who are just as bad as us.
Watters scores the ones cosgrove missed nailed on. But he wouldn't have been there to do it. That's the conundrum......
What was wrong with Styles? Has he gone? Got titty lip on 'cos he hasn't gone? Or injured, not seen owt.
Apparantly ill, as was Connell prior to today. I've got to admit I feared the worst with that starting line up today. We played well the 2nd half when he changed it round. But again the players have to take some blame. Totally inept that first half. It's as though the sleeping pills wore off. And we came awake for the second. Its happening far too often. 45 minute displays.
Mate, you're generally an excellent poster on here. Even if I don't always agree with you, your posts are usually enjoyable to read, well-argued, and thought provoking. However, I don't even know where to start with this. Several miles further away from the mark than a Chris Waddle penalty against Germany.
Exactly the point I made about 10 mins in. We should have started that way and played for 2nd balls of Cosgrove. He’s a handful and causes problems once he actually learns to get a shot on target I do think there’s a player in there. I’m not going to be too critical on watters as we didn’t create anything for him but at the same time it’s difficult to see the way forward for him unless perhaps Cole leaves tbh.
Watters was not the reason that we gifted them 2 goals, and if it wasn't for the keeper would have been 4 up. I was miffed that Watters started, but like I say he wasn't the reason we were so poor first 45. They pressed high first 45 ,second half defended deep.
Regardless of the selection you cannot legislate for players lofting long balls into touch, and generally not getting a pass anywhere near Watters or Cole. I would not have started Watters but he definitely didn’t do much wrong first half because not one player in a red shirt gave him or Cole anything whatsoever to work with. Cadden, O Keefe, were bystanders and the central defenders just kept giving the ball back.
Collins is lucky is he? , the "board" have replaced a championship defence and have lumbered him with defenders from non league and from back and beyond ..been denied the use of the league's best player through illness for much of the season to date. Phillips been missing in action since being sent off at Wembley. Aye!!, just drowning in good luck is Mr Collins..............sithi.
I don’t see how it’s unlucky. Lost one of his key players in Kitching just before the transfer window ended, lost a regular starter in Norwood just before the season started, lost his new keeper to a couple of months injury & was without Connell for the first 3 months of the season. If that’s lucky I’d love to see a description of unlucky
It isn't unlucky to sell players. It is however quite fortunate to have Carlisle kicking balls out of the stadium with an open goal inside the 6 yard box time after time.
