Any chance we might strengthen the team Mcatee even said it himself need more cover all the teams around us signed some form of quality to give them extra options whereas we have signed one player who won’t play for another 3 weeks we have a real chance of automatics if the board choose to strengthen

Can you ask that nice lady from Australia, why she's trying to Americanize my club? ;)

And is it true that Donovan Pines is planning to Australianize it?

Apologies if I’ve missed this elsewhere but does anyone who attended last night’s meeting have any points of discussion that they could share?

How is it cost neutral to the taxpayer if all rent is reinvested? Those rent payments are public purse monies, so if they are reinvested then that is a cost to the public purse.

If the rent is invested in ground improvements there is no actual cost to the taxpayer apart from the initial purchase of the remaining 50% of the ground. The ground becomes an asset to the council, and any improvements should increase the value of that asset.

Agree, it's an eyesore. What's that old Donny chairman doing, his he still alive?

Try getting your kids to attend Oakwell and then they see the facilities in the West... drove past the New York Stadium at the weekend and the kids in the back were saying how "mint" their stadiums is. If they're trying to encourage new supporters it's first impressions. Why piss about with it for another ten years.....

Posted this on the Any Updates thread Paul if it helps. Feel free to correct or add mate. (All from memory)

    Fans Forum. (All)
    Fan engagement group. (As present)
    Fan advisory group.(new)
    All 3 to continue.

Last night tbf was how the group would be structured/represented. With a panel of 8-12 to be representative of various elements within the fanbase. Which those I imagine at the meeting and others in the fanbase can put forward ideas to set an agenda for each meeting. With all advisory group members able to attend when a meeting is to take place.
Not a closed shop. (Everyone to my knowledge were able to apply) But obviously numbers controlled.

Then it was about what are the major pressing concerns of those present (put in groups) to put forward. A few examples.
    Fanzone Facilities.
    Safe standing.
    Stewarding.
    Disabled facilities.
    Communications
    Police advice
    West stand
    Etc.

Not team affairs questions. Fans forum covers that. But good luck with that one.

Some questions that are sensitive will be treat as that
Eg in talks with other parties eg council. Until decisions are reached. That applies in any walk of life.

All were taken away and to be addressed. As in replies. As you can imagine. time meant every question couldn't be addressed there and then in full. Some snippets. But a few positives now the lease has been sorted and looking at priorities and investment. In turn.

Have to say it was well organised, and the structure hopefully. Once set. means not a free for all. But with a set agenda. And when time permits, A.O.B.

If we pay 500k in rent to the council and they reinvest 500k, the cost to the public purse is a loss of 500k in rent income. That's not cost neutral in my eyes. They're essentially giving away an asset for no rent for 30 years. I'd be a bit peeved if I was a council tax payer that doesn't care about BFC.

Not exactly sure exactly what it means. But cost neutral according to this.

But they do own the asset entirely

Couldn't you argue the same about another private leisure company, Barnsley Premier Leisure, who use (and run) the Council's asset, the Metrodome?
