I wonder if it will clear the hurdles and vault us back in contention with a shot at the automatics and maybe even pole position. Remember it's a marathon not a sprint. Doug gets his info from the club, Alan Nixon doesn't. I'd always take anything with a pinch of salt unless it comes from Doug O'Kane or Andy Giddings. They're at least at the club asking the question.

 

They may be turning up at the club, but initial information can often come from leaks elsewhere.

I'd guess that there's substance to most things that he says but he can't be held accountable for whether the deal actually gets done. I don't understand why our fans give him such a hard time.

Things may have changed but when I worked down there it wasn’t uncommon for management to tip off the press regarding a possible transfer, usually by saying he wants xxx player but he’s heard xxx club want him and are prepared to trigger the release clause…. Purely to push the owners hand into his pocket.

Probably a lot different now.
