Stunned at that to be honest. Thought he’d have a couple more years at Merc and then retire.

Leclerc and Hamilton together could be a very quick pairing but will they have the car? I guess we’ll see in 2025.

I don't think Lewis would have moved had he not got the assurances over the car. I guess time will tell, but I remember there being similar question marks over his move from Mclaren to Mercedes.

Indeed there was. For that move though there’s Seb from Red Bull to Ferrari. And pretty much all of Alonso’s moves.

I’d love to see Lewis in the red of Ferrari but still not fully convinced if it’s true or a rumour that’s got way out of hand.

    I think it is true.

Wonder who Mercedes will go for. I'd personally go for Albon, but assume they'll go for Carlos unless Red Bull have him lined up to replace Checo.

    Who's he?
Hope it's not another transfer target we've missed out on just because Iseka has only just gone off our books.

I think Carlos is lined up for Audi.

Albon is a great shout. Proved he’s quick in the Williams and good mates with George. Big seat to fill though replacing Lewis.

Possibly not as competitive as he had hoped, but he's been courted by them for several years.

Think it is going to be interesting on the radio hearing how he reacts when they inevitably **** up his strategies!

Exactly. He’s gets mardy when Mercedes mess strategies up. I can’t wait to hear how he reacts to “we are checking…. Okay plan F”.

As a Hamilton fan it’s always been the dream to see him finish his career with Ferrari. Think I’ve said it on here many times.

I’d like to think it’s a legacy decision for him. If he helps them build a winning car, like Schumacher did, even better.

Don't blame him. Growing up that was the car. Ferrari Grand Prix for the NES was brilliant and who wouldn't want to follow in the footsteps of....

Unlikely, but what's even duller is commenting on a thread that is clearly F1-related just to tell everyone you don't like it :)

They could have waited until tomorrow to announce it. It's taking valuable reporting time away from transfer deadline day.
