    Broken record alert..!
I think if the fans did there part more at home games, our home record may just improve, is it such a coincidence?.. Play better away but look scared to death at home.
. In this second half of the season it's vital if we're going to achieve anything.. everyone must be on the same page.. just get behind em.. choose what.. between now and May and see where we end up..

Fingers crossed that the club are madly on the phone, and are trying their best to get some deals done. I really hope so!.
And most other clubs are in the same boat as well I reckon, and it's what makes it so annoying having to wait until today, and sometimes its close to midnight when they are completed.
Its going to be another frustrating/worrying/interesting day isn't it, for us all again. But even though we moan, would we really want it any other way ?.

Maybe a loan striker and then re-evaluate in the summer when Cole and Mcatee probably leave, but totally agree that we can't keep signing players without moving players on too.
Bobby need's to be doing some spade work to clear a few fringe players out in the summer.

Whilst I don't agree with the OP he's been responded to with some overly rose-tinted responses imho.

If we look at the actual position this window so far:-

Defence - We have signed one player that whilst we all hope he is, nobody, if they're being honest, can say if he'll be a success or not. He is not yet fit enough to play, anyway. Meanwhile our hitherto steadiest central defender has seen what was originally said to be a minor one game injury last over a month.

Midfield - Our two best midfielders are battling with a combination of illness, injury and looming significant suspension.

Attack - Our potential bright spark off the bench is now injured (unconfirmed rumours of it being season ending).

So, yes, there's 13 hours left but as things stand there is also significant work to do particularly given the relative strengthening at main promotion contenders like Portsmouth, Bolton and Derby. I don't disagree that there needs to be departures of fringe players and hope we can use today to start to reverse last Summer's 'quantity over quality' approach. It'll be a 'Spectemur Agendo' in the morning from me.

We don't know if Pines will be a success, nor do we know whether Earl will be a success if he signs, or Blackpool know whether Byers will be a success.

For the midfield, it's a difficult one to recruit for. Players won't want to come just to act as cover for Connell, and clubs won't loan players out in January to sit on the bench. Plus while we have injury problems at the moment, we still have a lot of midfielders on the payroll. So, recruiting there will have it's challenges.

In attack, we have Cole, McAtee, Cosgrove, Watters, Shaw, Jalo and Marsh in the first team squad. That's a lot of players to be paying (on top of Dallas), so probably need to move somebody on, hopefully not Cole, to bring someone in.

Ultimately, if all we do is sign Earl, and not lose any key players, then I'd consider that an ok window. The back 3 was in dire need of improvement. Another midfielder and forward on top of that would be a bonus.

Unfortunately, the damage was done in the summer

Still plenty of time left yet. Teams like to wait until later on for the “drama”. Wouldn’t surprise me if Earl got sorted yesterday, we’re just waiting for later today to announce.

we need something mildly entertaining to get behind. Football is deadly dull and no one’s gonna be randomly being noisy unless that changes

I agree wqtched carlisle and exeter games and by god it was dull. Last seasons team and manager were 10 times better than this time around. I think if we had gone up would of made a good fist of it this season in championship. If we went up this season think we would get loved most weeks . Collins would ger the boot in like november

You had me on side right up to this point. But what damage?

Despite losing our head coach, goalkeeper, and entire back 3, we have replaced. It's taken 2 windows, but it's all there. Granted, there's not much strength beyond the first 11, but it's not as though we're in a poor position in the league either. We're 5th, 5 points off the automatics. If the two bonuses that you've eluded to come off tonight, it could be the catalyst we need to get back on another long unbeaten run, like the one we've just experienced.

It's all ifs and buts like, but it's the same on both sides.

Stoke are after Ennis so that’s another one you can kiss goodnight to.

Cracking window so far, ‘sir Bob’…

Panic shopping on the last day….

Best thing you ever written mate. Completely agree. We as fans lose our heads far too often. We exaggerate everything, and are extremely fickle.

You do realise that the vast majority of signings that go through on deadline day have been worked on behind the scenes for days or even weeks before pen is put to paper? It's not like when I run round Morrisons two minutes before closing time and can't find any parmesan, so I just grab some cheddar to toss in the carbonara and hope no-one will notice. That's not how football transfers work.

Hemsy, what do you expect Bobby to do? How much does he have to spend? Can he give Collins the players he wants? If better clubs come in for our targets, what should he do? You seem to know enough to know its Bobby's fault so I'd love to hear it.

How is this panic shopping? We got Pines in early. He's an American international. Earl has been in process for a good few days.
How many times do you need it explaining to you that one plus one equals two? We have some money but the bulk of our transfer income from the summer is plugging running costs. Time and again you drag the club down.

Most signings have been lined up for days/weeks. They probably leave it till now because clubs may knock the valuation down to try and get players off the books.
