This seems to be dragging it's heels. Perhaps our lack of action in terms of fetching other bodies in is due to the fact that Styles hasn't left yet. The last thing we need is to bring in another midfielder only for the Styles deal to fall through at the last minute!
We have a little over an hour for all things to be resolved. In the meantime there are re-runs of Dragon's Den to behold. Who will Gary Neville give his money to next....
I’ve heard he’s out of action for a couple of months… so no surprise that teams aren’t flocking to sign him.
Option to buy is an absolute joke yet again. So we lose a first team player from our squad who covers two important positions for the rest of the season and we're yet again at the whim of the other team as to whether they want to keep him permanently or not? Who suffers if he's sent back again? It's us..it's always us.
I completely disagree with us letting him leave without an obligation to buy. The problem is he’s on big money, hasn’t done anything for 2 1/2 years & doesn’t get in our best 11.
I'll wait to see what the next 25 minutes brings. Tbf he's been average to poor all season, and most people would say he doesn't even deserve to be in the starting XI. It's not in our interest to see his value keep dropping, so if he can go to Sunderland and do well, that's going to serve us well in the long run. That said, if we don't bring a replacement in, then people will rightly say it weakens us.
Very poor from the club this. I don’t care that he wants to play at a higher level, if they want him they pay for him. Either now or at the end of the season. We might aswell have just kept him for cover at least.
