According to Bobby..... “Callum expressed a desire to leave the Club and play at a higher level in the second half of this season.” Shame he didn't show that ability to be able to play at a higher level in the first half of this season. Just when we got rid of our Oulare/Iseka deadwood, we seem lumbered with another who doesn't want to be here, but no one other than himself thinks he's good enough to move on.
Players are moving clubs all the time for decnt money look at Coventry paid 5million for kitching without parachute payments. Plus is Millwall would have said we won't pay 2million we will give you 1million I think we would have sold especially now.
We'd have a sulking player around the camp who isn't interested in being hear what's the point he's had 22 games and done barely anything handful of decent games here and there, comes a point you can't force players if he wants out fair do's
Coventry were in a pretty unusual position, having just sold two players for the best part of £30 million quid.
I suppose it depends how you look at it. Someone said that the Chron mentioned earlier about Sunderland paying a substantial loan fee if the deal included an option to buy as opposed to an obligation. If that’s the case then it could be mutually beneficial for all parties if they’re also covering his wages and putting him in the shop window, irrespective of whether they’re the ones who sign him. We arguably have a better chance of securing a return if he’s playing well at a high standard and turns out for Hungary at the Euros. That being said, we’re desperately light in midfield. I really do hope that we’ve got another signing on the way to provide competition and cover for Connell, Philips, Kane and Russell.
2million isn't alot in football terms nowadays if callum styles performed well last season Millwall or another championship side would have took a gamble for that fee.
Cant blame him for wanting to promote his chances of playing in the Euros. Good luck to him. Better full back than midfield general.
The message to Styles should have been ‘Get us promoted this year and you’ll be a Championship player again next season’. A shame he doesn’t want to do the job for this club.
If they offered 500k we’d take it. They’ll be wanting him for nothing in the knowledge that we want shut of him due to his wages.
Which is why a transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy should've been the only options on the table. Instead now there's a chance that same player gets basically rejected by a second championship team in two years and we end up with that player back in the squad this summer with an even bigger chip on his shoulder and a worse attitude.
I can't help but feel that something has gone wrong somewhere that we don't have any money in for an established international who's going to the Euros this year, and first replacement is Jon Russell, possibly the worst player we have seen since Keith Brown
or it twists Sunderland’s arm and makes them come up with the money, this way we could still end up with a sulking player that we still have to pay.
Well he's moved to a team in a higher division, let's see if he gets to play much for them. I'll be surprised if he does.
That's all good and well in an ideal world, but if nobody is coming in with that deal then it doesn't leave us many options, we can only take the deal put on the table, other option is keep a sulky player
You've obviously blanked the holy trinity of Paul Gibbs, Mike Flynn and Richard Naylor out of your mind (and with very good reason, too). As well as Tony Bedeau. The striker brought in to save us from second tier relegation who couldn't get a regular start at fcking Torquay.
