    I have no idea anymore but the club should have sold him outright. No more ********. If he's that good pay up and Styles can jog on. I'm normally respectful about players but this has been a farce. Apart from the Val season he's not played that well either.

    3 weeks to sort it out then both clubs putting out totally opposite messages. Highly competent.

    On the initial announcement Sunderland say same as us, loan with option to buy.(see link below)
    Then on the posting for the video they say permanent.

    I'd hazard a guess that somewhere within the Sunderland comms teams the backside and elbows have not connected and the video team have released something that was pre-written last week before his illness and the details of the deal actually made tonight were finalised. Their statement tonight mirrors ours - Callum Styles joins Sunderland - SAFC

    Joking apart, at least we know why it's taken so long. They clearly planned a permanent deal only to change their minds for some reason....

    Anyway. Looking forward to lots more Jon Russell magic for the rest of the season.
