Lopata & Shepherd would no Ionger make our squad with the new signings. We’d all like a squad of 30 so we never lack cover but we’ve got to balance the books & I’d imagine they’re both desperate for game time. Styles is a frustrating one but he’s on big money & doesn’t get in our best 11.
We were missing the star signing that gets the fans going singing there name waiting for them to step on the pitch and create some magic........ You the the Mido type of signing. Defence was the main area that needed something doing with and hopefully the additions in that department will do that only time will tell. Midfield could have done with a extra addition as the Exeter game showed that when both Connell and Kane arnt in the team the back up for the both of them is miles off. Forward should be enough with what we have Watters and Cosgrove have both not had the impact we were all hoping for, with Watters we knew what we were getting with him being here last season hopefully Cosgrove can have a better second half of the season. For me Mcatee has filled the void of Norwood and can last the full 90 when played along side Cole he is constantly in the defenders faces. Any new player that comes in is a gamble as in if they will work or have the desired impact just look at previous signings of "named" players that we have signed before not all signings work or fit it's the same for all clubs some are more costly than others. If we can carry on with the rest of the season as it is going we will be in the top 6 where we finish in that top six who knows just enjoy the ride.
