I don't agree with not celebrating, that seems a bit "off" with regards to your present club. Just do it in front of your fans!
Naah, celebrate any goal you score for the club that is employing you. Probably get it if it was against a club you played for many years, a player that showed some loyalty but a fleeting visit of a season or 2 or not many games, no, celebrate your goal and celebrate with your fans imo
I watch lots of Everton. The wife and all her family are massive toffees. I’d say he was the opposite of dog ****. Him and Pickford kept them up pretty much single handed a couple of seasons ago. Everton fans love him because he was fantastic for them.
No you’re right I got it round my neck, I had in my head he went ages without scoring for them but just checked. I’ve deleted the comment as unfair to call someone that unfairly, Thank you.
Disagree entirely. I've never understood the 'muted celebration'. Footballers who don't celebrate goals are a bit odd.
I agree to a point but if you saw how Aitchison celebrated last Saturday, it was more goading the away fans than celebrating his goal
Not sure why he felt the need to goad his own fans to be fair In all seriousness, I don't agree with goading opposition fans. Aitchison isn't the only one doing it (anither particular ex striker of ours was the worst for it). I don't mind players celebrating against their former club though. I find muting a celebration really false.
He celebrated where he scored. Nowt wrong with that. He didnt go running towards the Ponty End after scoring as he was already there. Some people just need to get a thicker skin. Do you really wanna take all the fun out of scoring?
Mmm, I think he did mean to be goady, his interview afterwards where he smirked when asked about how it felt to score against his old club confirmed it It didn't bother me btw!
My main gripe with his celebration was that he seemed to have a blatant disregard for the support that he had, not only from the fans but from the club itself when he was our player
I'd like to think if poor souls are so upset by players' antics they'll consider their contributions on social media in future....
This was my gripe as well. Our club did everything they could to support him in a really difficult time for him, including letting him leave to go to Scotland for his benefit. I thought he was a really clever player for us but he didn’t show any class when he scored. We all stood behind him & he should have a word with himself. Celebrate goals but come on, don’t be a ….
