So why play him as a wingback? He would make a half decent winger in a 4-4-2 system which we can't do with our current squad. We don't have any proper defensive full backs
Roberts Williams Pine Earl Cadden Cotter Kane Connell Grant Cole Mcatee Cosgrove would benefit from a change in formation and push the current front 2. Love a good old 442
Earl would play LB and Cadden LM. Williams is probably decent enough. Personally I don't see the point in changing, but it might be a nice surprise up our sleeves.
Collins has already said that Earl's versatility gives him better options to switch formations when needed.
The wingers would support Williams and Cadden but would like to think they would be good enough for league 1 definitely couldn't play that role or formation in the championship. It's all about getting out of this league and the goal conceeded yesterday was prime example of how our wingback arent quite right against the better teams.
