First time in that part town since it opened, about 10 men some in suits stood around bottom of the lift which are still not working. When I asked why was told these things need to be tested, I'm in no way a life engineer but crickey it's one level lift can't be a complicated. The deck of the bridge is full of puddles it's just a poor finish I think it's an asset to the town but somebody needs to get it sorted.

Snagging. Council should be absolved from any costs if plans were clear.

The bridge looks great, the lift situation has become farcical but the puddles which I assume are due to the shocking finish of the deck, yes can be sorted with snagging and possibly the opening date was rushed after programme delays but the finish is very poor.

I think the bridge will look great when they finish the other half.

I wouldn't want to be on it then to be honest. I get there will be snagging but standing water full length of the deck and gullys at both end the water not even getting to them water just pudding a couple of feet in front of them. As I said far from an expert but it's a proper mess and i wouldn't think it's a easy fix.

The glass sides aren't safe either. You get a rampaging wheelchair and you have a scene from naked gun.

I wouldn't want to get that close. Terrified of heights.

Will need scabbling off if it's to be re-done right.

I used the bridge at the weekend and thought that the deck surface looked great. It wasn't raining though but after reading all the complaints of bumpy surface I had a good look and assumed it had been sorted because I couldn't see the ripples or poor surfacing that everyone was complaining about.

Have you used the bridge yet? I don't suffer from a phobia of heights so I can't really understand what people like you who do experience or what actually scares you but at the weekend I was thinking about how high and safe the sides looked. Not really sure if that would reassure someone who's scared of heights or not

From the sounds of the OP it just needs the lifts testing. That may well have been what they were doing this morning actually if loads of suits were stood at the entrance to the lift.

On Saturday someone was working on the lighting near the lifts too

Walked over it early Friday evening with the dog and thought the surface looked ok, it didn't after the Stevenage game when it first opened.

We have some Sycamores in our back yard. When I was seven I climbed to the top of the highest one. Not an ounce of fear. Looked across to Luke Williams House Pontefract and realised I was higher. Then the wind blew and I looked down. Realised how high I was and panicked.

I managed to get down to the bottom but never went that high again.

That's what I thought, it looked great the day it opened when I went to look but the photos I'd seen of it after that first match looked awful but then at this weekend it looked great again.
