Probably cause its a fiver a ticket at meadowhall. I use parkway myself as there are staff in the screenings watching for talkers and phone users

They do need to reduce their prices to be competitive, 2 adult tickets at Cineworld are £24 compared to £14 at Meadowhall to watch a standard 2d film but then with petrol you're not really saving much.

Wouldn't want to spend my coin in Sheffield though.

I used to love going to the pics in the 70s, in Wakey & Cass. It never cost me anything because I only ever had a bit of pocket money in those days. :p

Mon - Weds standard tickets now £5.99 normally £9.99.

They needed to bring the prices down a bit

Remember them filming the Batman in Liverpool- used St George's Hall for a few of the scenes and Liver building as well. Went past when it was being filmed all the Gotham Police cars parked in the streets with the old fashioned police crash barriers

They make a lot of films in Liverpool don’t they, because of all the great looking buildings. It tends to double for Russia quite often.

I’m a Batman geek and was really pissed off when I found out that they shot some of the Nolan trilogy a few hundred yards away from where I used to live in Mill Hill, north London. They used the National Centre for Medical Research as Arkham Asylum, shooting at night. Had I known I’d have snuck up there to watch.

Incidentally, behind that building is the garden centre we used to go to (where I once almost bought a dozen chipmunks, but that’s another story!). We were once at the pictures watching Hot Fuzz and the scene where Simon Pegg is chasing the villain was shot there. It was terribly exciting when it came on the screen, as I recognised it straight away.

Check the OP date, I've tagged another deal onto the original post

Now edited the title to avoid confusion and Cineworld having bigger queues than Oakwell :D

Feel so proud to have a state of the art Cineworld in town AND the parkway doing well too showing movies on actual film.

We really are lucky in Barnsley
