It’s interesting that the club will only allow payments of cash and PayPal and not credit card. Presumably because the cc companies know they will have to bear losses if they go under.

They’re seriously in the ****, and have no chance of anything changing unless DC cuts his losses, which seems highly unlikely.

Slightly off topic, but one thing I've noticed from that snippet is that the TV money received by league 1 clubs has barely increased over the last 10 years, but it's more than doubled in the Championship. Whilst £8million is a paltry amount in football nowadays in the top 2 divisions, it signifies how much the gap is widening between tiers 2 and 3, and how less reliant we'd need to be on player sales and cash injections from the board if we were back in that league.

I noticed exactly that. Would make sure a big difference to us given that last time we were in the championship we had the lowest match day revenue of all clubs , at £2.9m

Player sales £16.7m over a 10 year period and a wage bill as high as £42m in 2018 ridiculously unstainable losses, yet their fans abuse him for not spending money do they not realise he's propping up loses of £132m, they gambled and failed big time

They weren't giving him grief when they had about 7 £50k a week strikers on the books were they?

I think their fans argument hasn't necessarily been that he isn't investing the money, more that they sign players they dont need. They had about 9 strikers last season.

Honestly, if they went through a goalie injury crisis now, Chansiri would probably drop £5m on a centre forward, or a darts player or something.

Wowzers seen Wigan, Bolton and Derby go into adminstration with wages vs turnover around the 170% mark but 209% unreal

Presumably that was mainly due to the pandemic though. Gate receipts were down that year too from £8m to £100k.

Not sure of all the ins and outs etc not my bag really but media reports at the time quoted wages vs Turnover at 170% I think Bolton were pre covid and the other 2 were both relegated so weather it be a pandemic or whatever to run anything 100% more than it absolutely should be at the max leaves no room for a poor season ending in relegation

This is everything that is wrong with modern football. How any club can carry that kind of debt is outrageous. Reckless.
