Their lad wouldn’t look out of place in our side with tackling like that in the box. Great penalty from Kane.

Williams gets pelters every game, but this is 2 games running where a goal has come after MDG failed to make a tackle.

MDG was shocking for their goal your a defender you can put a tackle in.
And coles goal looked onside as they had a bloke in the goal mouth.

It looked like Cole was behind the keeper though

The keeper position is not relevant. There has to be 2 opposing players between him and the goal. One of which doesn't have to be the keeper.

It is relevant in this case. The point I believe he’s making is that because he was beyond the keeper there was only one player in front of cole, the lad in the goalmouth. So he was offside. One of the two players doesn’t have to be the keeper no, but it was because he was beyond the keeper that he was offside there.

Some might have seen the lad in the goalmouth and assumed that made him onside.

It's a poor goal to concede.
I agree that MDG didn't make the tackle although in fairness he'd won the first header and then had to go out to challenge the player who'd picked up the loose ball, plus he did attempt one - somehow the lad got lucky because he mis-controlled it which enabled him to turn out of it. Imo there are two further issues, firstly that there's no midfield player to challenge the loose ball - my sense is that as the defensive player, Russell should've been somewhere around there. Unfortunately he only appears on the edge of the area as the goal goes in. And secondly, I think Jordan Williams gets caught betwixt and between, he neither goes to challenge the stop the pass from the player who comes out of the MDG challenge nor goes with the runner. As soon as MDG went to challenge, Jordan should've swapped and picked up the number 11. And then when the pass is made, he drops off to block the cross rather than going towards 11 to block. For me he has to mark 11 and stop the cross being made. His positioning after 22/23 seconds illustrates he's adding no value defensively at that moment and so for me he carries more responsibility.
I like JW - I think he's been a good player for us but as has been said by others on here multiple times, he's struggling atm.

I thought that perhaps he was one of those that thought the keeper as to be counted in the two opposing players (I have have met too many in the past who think that).

I think that's fair. A lot of players at fault for the goal. O'Keefe and Russell seemed to be taken out of play by a 10 yard ball over their heads, and Russell should really have tracked back. But once MDG had got there after his header, he really should've done better. Similarly, at the weekend, Williams loses the ball about 40 yards from goal, and gets dogs abuse. MDG being run around like he's not there got very little mention.
