I thought he did quite well and for once the ref didn't penalise him over the defender on 50-50 challenges. He could have had more goals if he'd have kept his head and got his shots on target. But since he did score we cannot grumble too much.
I thought he did ok, a bit rusty as expected but put himself about a bit, got a good goal. Probably should have scored another, however, the through ball was a little under hit. Needs more time to get match sharp.
Put himself about, caused them a few problems. Much better than he has been. Took his goal well, and should have had another just before that; he perfectly judged a poor clearance, and brought the ball down well on the edge of the box, but rushed his chance and skied it. I'd give him a 7/10
Good header for his goal, put himself about and won some high balls, messed up a couple of attacks by not playing a simple ball/taking a shot when in a good position and missed a good chance before he scored, but overall did OK.
Lots I could pick fault with, but he scored and we won, so I guess you can say he did his job. He still has some way to go to win me over though.
Did some really good stuff ie took his goal excellently, did some not so good stuff. Also did really well for the second goal.
A limited player but gives us a different option and could be useful player in the run in , he can cause chaos for opposing defenders but not necessarily on purpose.
He's just what we need stature wise' i just wish he'd be more physical' atm he seems to be doing what Woodrow did all the time' ie just leaning into his man trying to get freekicks' if you get the chance check out Matt smiths 1st goal for Salford' proper big bustling centre forwards goal' brilliant.
Average. Goal was nicely taken and offered a different option but too much attacking play broke down due to either his slowness in movement or thought.
Pleased he scored and perhaps there’s still a player in there but I thought he was very poor with his feet. Seemed to give the ball away a lot, either with a misplaced pass or a bad touch. We need a striker like him for games like yesterday so I’m reluctant to criticise him, but from all the evidence so far I don’t think he’ll ever be good enough for the Championship. I hope this goal changes that and we start to see more promise from him as his confidence grows.
He scored but if he was any more lumbering, he would be attacking the citizens of Tokyo. Hopefully he kicks on from here.
Been a bit of a supporter of his as I think there's a player in there that gives us something else. goals breed confidence so yesterday did no harm. think he's a support forward to a goal scorer like Devante but this could be his chance..
He's as big as a brick shithouse, big boy, biiiig boy, but needs to do more, should be playing an scaring the living daylights out of defences, we need him up front but without the ammo hes as much use as tits on a fish.
He gets penalised from referees for looking in direction of other players mate, he gets grappled every time he plays and nothing happens, and when the lad so much as even attempts to be physical its a foul against!
Nice header to end a fluent one touch move, but I thought Fleetwoods ‘big lad’ up front made a lot more of his height and physicality. He was a real hand full for our central defenders, won headers, bossed the ball and had them going back towards our own goal. I was very happy when he was subbed.
I think he took the goal well, but it was a perfect cross from Phillips. He is not in my opinion good enough to get a regular start, but goals breed confidence.
