    Had to have time off at Sunderland too.
    Underrated Manager who seems to have done alright wherever he’s been.
    Hopefully not too serious for his long term health.

    Always had a soft spot for Ipswich old boys, going back to when I used to watch them in 1974/5 when I was at Essex Uni.
    (Apart from when he scored against us at Wembley of course!!)

    Hes a likeable bloke and every team he goes to consistantly competes no matter what. I hope he fixes up quickly.

    Yes he was, given what's happened though I suspect Crystal Palace have changed things and let him announce he's stepping down rather than the club putting out a statement saying he's been sacked when he's in hospital. I'm sure he will have been given a decent severance package.

    One of the good guys in football, I believe he joined Ipswich after the sad passing of his wife and finally got to play at Wembley in his last game ...and scored unfortunately for us.
