Just thinking back over the years at how many centre-backs we've sold for big money. How come that this is the one position where the plan seems to work. I can think of no other position where players have made us so much profit. Off the top of my head Howard, May, Tyler, De Zeeuw, McCarthy, Stones, Holgate, Mawson, Lindsay Pinnock, Roberts, Andersen, Kitching (Im sure therell be loads more) have all brought in very good money whereas I don't think other positions have done so well. I can see MDG, Earl and Pines also bringing in the cash. Why do we seem so good at producing centre backs?

Can all be traced back to the grand master himself,Sir Eric Winstanley, who I believe was still coaching as late as the 90s under Danny Wilson. Obviously knew how to pick a good un and coach them well. But yes we've certainly carried on that tradition when it comes to identifying a cracking centre back

Been our strongest position over the years - not found as many out and out goalscorers

We need them because we're always defending. Joking aside. Playing style has to come into it.
