I'd like him to finish top goalscorer in the league, but if Phillips is going to score two every game from now to the end of the season, i'm not bothered if he doesn't score again!
Think he still played well today, didn't really have any chances created for him, so naturally unless he does something incredible it would be tough. Had a great game against Bolton & Leyton Orient too.
I thought Cole was very good again today. His workrate for a striker imo is better than most. Some of those chase downs and winning the ball throughout the game spurred us on. Yet I could still hear one or two criticise him for not chasing (imo) lost causes.
No I know bud, didn't mean it to come across that way if it did - just meant it as though at least he's still playing well enough despite not scoring as many. Did so much hard work today, more than usual for me, seemed really up for it.
Was having a piss at half time and over head a bloke telling his mate "if Cole hadn't scored 17 goals he wouldn't be in team he would be dropped done nowt all half" opinions eh.
Cole will score when the chances fall his way but when there not he doesn't half graft for the teams cause.
This is stating the obvious again of course, but yeah I'm sure we all want to see Devante get goals into the 20s. Like I asked about this though last season, do we think he will and if so, how many etc ?.
