A winning football team doesn’t half give the feel good feeling…….Tell you what we’ve got an impressive Tarn centre now…cracking boozers and eating places….was great to see Tarn buzzing before and after the game……long may it be so…..

Great to see the ponty (I sit in the east) in full swing. And rest of the ground. Agree with the rest also. Quite a few from our lot went into town after to enjoy the moment. A bit longer.

The atmosphere pre match was brilliant. Glassworks square and bridge link has made a phenomenal difference. It genuinely feels like it physically connects the town to the ground.

You’re right sir, the view of the Ponty with scarves flowing and Hey Jude in full flow , was inspiring.
The East stand even made an effort but we’ve a reputation to retain !

I dont think those in the west stand would be happy about that. It'd reduce capacity and they'd have to move elsewhere, (I say that tongue in cheek.) But give it a rest. It's not going to happen anytime soon. Most if not all, accept that fact. For the reasons given by the club.
You seem to have more anger in the kind of language you use of late btw.? Such as myself it can be the norm. Owt up.

Is the northern half of the West Stand ever to be given to away fans again or would it present too many segregation problems ?
Before 93, teams like Sunderland and Leeds were given more standing ( and seating ? ) tickets along with the normal away fans end.

Nope, all is good with me. as ever online the tone doesn't always carry through.

And while I accept that the club say it isnt going to happen because they've made the decision to continue to throw money at it to fund it's decline for many years to come that doesn't mean it is a decision that should be accepted. The more people who continue to raise the issue the more the issue will be forced.

The club were also very firm that fans in the racism stand must sit down but because the coke heads have refused to do that the club have been forced to apply for permission to spend a fortune on installing safe standing.

The difference is, I'm moaning about something that's massively holding the club back, they were doing drugs, being racist and breaking the rules. Yet when the club caved they were celebrated.

It won't be given to anyone ever again because it's not fit for use as a football stand containing paying supporters any more unfortunately. Where basic facilities such as toilets should be we've instead removed them and crammed in media facilities instead.

You say its holding the club back. I say its until finances and other circumstances dictate otherwise. Eg promotion with stability. (It'll not bring more in till then.)or another massive transfer fee. What you are saying is correct re pushing for something to be done (Do/did it myself when feasible) . But some or most will do it when it makes sense. Sorry but yours doesn't. To me anyway.
And bairnin on here about it all the time. Ain't going to make one iota of difference.
Email the club or talk to the organ grinders not the monkies (the BBS ) Where your concerns/anger should be aimed.
What next. Waiting for the new CEO to fekk up. With comms. To aim your attention elsewhere.
I have never heard anyone in any meeting put your concerns forward given the clubs reasoning. Get thissen on one of em.

The way I see it is it will cost x amount to replace the west stand right? It will cost no less next year than it will now and no less in 10 years than now. In fact the cost will most likely continue to rise.

In the meantime we are throwing good money after bad trying to keep the thing just half open and even the new landlord has admitted it may last about 10 more years if they continue to throw money at it to keep half of it just about open.

So we know the cost to replace it isn't going to suddenly go down if we keep it for longer and we know it's actively costing money in repairs and maintenance but it's not just that is it. It's also costing us money in potential revenue.

It's got zero facilities in it. No executive boxes which a new stand could. No non-matchday revenue which due to its unique position on grove street a new stand could easily have and it limits our capacity. There have been a few times over the last few seasons including less than 24 hours ago that we could have sold more tickets if it wasnt for the west stand.

It's costing us revenue, it's costing us expenses and it's also costing us in terms of atmosphere by allowing sound out of the stadium over it's low, far back roof. That's an immeasurable cost really because atmosphere breeds performance and points. It's also well known that stadium improvements generate good feeling within fantasies and help generate a buzz of excitement due to the perceived progress and ambition it demonstrates.

I get that it's not simple to just say down it goes but the flat out refusal to publicly consider it and consult on it it's bonkers and damaging and the public statements of 'its staying' are in my opinion very harmful.

At what point have they ever said it won't be considered.? Cos every meeting I've been to. (Consulted with the fans) It's been basically said "when the time and finances say it's right."

It won't be considered any time soon is what I mean. Didn't you hear the landlord say it's got 10 years left with maintenance? It seemed a pretty clear message and didn't you say a couple of weeks ago that it's been stated quite clearly by the club that the west stand won't be replaced any time soon?

Edit: I'd also like to point out that the west stand issue doesn't anger me or anything like that, I just actually enjoy the debates about the merits and reasoning of keeping it versus replacing it. I find it interesting seeing and discussing everyone's opinions on it. In fact that goes for most of the things I post about on here, it's not because I'm angry or anything like that but I enjoy the differing opinions.

I'd like to think the west stand situation would be accelerated if we got promoted. I'm the first to agree it's no longer fit for purpose and needs replacing. However I also don't personally see it as a priority, as long as we're in Division 3.

The new lease. Will give more hope of it happening.
Yes I did say that and I mean it. (The club comment was wrong in that case in the sense until viable) That's a personal view. But if I remember rightly. I did add the same criteria as my previous reply. To that particular post.
The 10 yrs was mentioned. But not written in Stone as if 10yrs sticking with it. If the circumstances allow it may get a new one b4 then.
My car may have 10 yrs life left in it, if maintained. Till I can afford another. But if I win the lottery b4 then. I may invest in one.

You comment a lot on what's been said and written as best by such as missen. Get thissen to a meeting and hear things from the horses mouth. I don't do shorthand. :);)

Spot on. I have no interest eating and drinking in town before many teams we play. But as yesterday was a big game I did just that. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had food and drink in town yesterday that usually never does, due to the occasion.

Get promoted and the footfall for local businesses will increase significantly.

I don't go to many away games and hardly ever go by train. Are there many grounds, where the train station, ground and town centre are that closely linked? I imagine as an away fan, it's a cracking away day.
