Its a haze really. Remember being intrigued by diesels and my Dad saying, " theres enough diesels let's look at some proper trains".

I’ve recently taken a 3 and a 5 yr old, as others have said, big redevelopment going on, but you can’t argue for free. There’s an area to play in for youngsters within the main hall as well. Was a little disappointed that the signalling/viewing platform was closed at the same time as the second hall though.

Is it true that there's smells at Jorvik?

Glad you posted that (thought I'd lost it) as last time I went I took the footbridge, opposite of the direction to the station entrance. As you clear the final platform you can see the NRM and it's no more than a couple of hundred yards to it.....

100% yes the museum is OK for eating ,however little train ride from the museum into the city and plenty of nice places next to the river.
There's a place where there is a little beach for little kiddies and good eating place too.
    Took the grandson there

Yes and loads. York is a brilliant place, lived there for 10 years.

The last time I went the flying Scotsman was steamed up out in the back yard.

Plenty of places to eat in York *but* it gets very busy on a weekend so could be a little intimidating for a young kid. Keep a close eye on them and you'd be fine. He'll probably love walking on the walls too...
