That although I don't like projections and racking up points totals and run ins in our heads. It's refreshing seeing the club on the up and reading the excitement of fellow posters. Even if I am a pessimistic bugger myself .
Too right SD. Don't think at some points this season many of us thought we'd be looking at pushing automatic for the run in. I've stuck to forecasting a play off place all season but did have serious doubts at times...great innit.
It’s crackers this season. I said something on here along the lines of “top 2 has gone now” about 3 weeks ago. I’m now convinced we’ll finish 2nd!
The top 3 last season were far better than the top 3 this season. No reason why we can't make the top 2. At the start of the season I was happy with the play offs.
Tend to agree but disagree Bazza, Ipswich defo stand out btw. I think we are bit too critical of our team at times, maybe we are better than we give them credit for, I still think we have another gear to go up tbh and barring injuries I think we will reap benefits of defensive recruitment in coming weeks, hope so anyway
I agree, Ipswich stood out, but other two I think are roughly on par with top 4 this year. Perhaps a little harsh on Plymouth given how well they did though and now midtable in championship, albeit not safe by any stretch
No disrespect mate, but this is the 3rd season from the last 4 that we’ve been ‘on the up’. We were only a few games away from the Premier League under Val, Granted Conway took too much confidence from that season, thought he’d mastered football, and totally took his eye off the ball, resulting in relegation, but we are now in our second successive season of pushing for promotion. Suppose it depends on personal outlook, patience or even agenda in the case of some fans, but I’ve been travelling up and down watching the reds and these two seasons feel to have merged into one. As a young fan in the 80s and 90s, I wouldn’t dare dream of winning so many away games, playoffs, Wembley appearances and promotions. I know it’s not the Championship for the most part but that doesn’t spoil my enjoyment or my view of the club.
