Fair point but there's still a bit of me that's secretly pleased that the 3 Right Wing parties (all 'supporting' the slaughter in Gaza) got such a kicking in Rochdale - and it was quite a kicking!

But not a Cat on Big Brother to Rula Lenska. One of the most stomach churning scenes in the history of TV.

That's his M.O, he lost Bradford West despite his vicious personal attacks on the women who eventually beat him, who was subject to threats and abuse. The man is an absolute sewer rat. He'll lose again at the general election and blame the Zionists as per usual.

He’ll be gone in a few months as he won’t retain it against a party supported Labour candidate in a general election - but he’ll get a nice little pay off at tax payer expense for his time.

He won’t get a loss of office payment as he won’t have served the required two year minimum - but there is the winding down payment. Basically continued budget funding to pay for your office and staff etc. Which late last year parliament increased to four months, from the previous two, for the next election. Almost as through the sitting government expects a lot of its people to lose…

Think we may be in for a few surprises this coming general election. Especially the seats where Labour are expected to gain. This result is the springboard for similar results and attitudes. You only have to look at the ethnicity / religious beliefs which are starting to dictate more party politics within many London boroughs as an example. It wouldn't take a massive shift for similar outcomes. But hey, this is democracy in action. If folk vote for these candidates the minority have to suck it up.

A passing bandwagon? He’s been an outspoken supporter of Palestine for his whole political life.

    Absolutely this.

Apart from someone on the far right any winner that isn’t Labour, Tories or the Lib Dems is a massive positive in my opinion

As for opportunists isn’t that what they all are? Dan Jarvis & Stephanie Peacock have no ties to Barnsley. They took an opportunity to snag a safe Labour seat.

Look at all the Labour MP’s that have supposedly completely changed their political outlook in the last 4 years - Starmer, Streeting, Nandy, Lammy etc & we’re supposed to take them seriously?

Look at all the Tories that were remainers & soon became brexiteers when they spotted an opportunity.

There’s a hell of a lot I disagree with Galloway on but I’m glad he’s won this seat. The main parties in this country are a disgrace & they need a kick up the arse.

Of course he’s used the situation in Gaza to help him but why the hell not? Over 75% of people support a ceasefire in this country yet none of our major parties do. At least it’s a cause he’s always supported. He’s not Boris Johnson suddenly becoming a brexiteer or Keir Starmer suddenly deciding all 10 of his leadership pledges aren’t for him.

But just to be clear, the Right Wing parties I was referencing were Reform, Labour and the Conservatives. All were obliterated

I still find it hilarious that despite the Labour Party stitching up the candidate selections & literally having a paid Israeli lobbyist in Luke Akehurst at the head of the NEC selections they still managed to pick an anti-Semite as their candidate. You couldn’t make it up.

Galloway is a vile grifting ****** who should be nowhere near power. Having said that given the 2main parties are massively out of step with the electorate on Gaza and are more interested in banning peaceful protests than addressing Israeli war crimes it’s unsurprising that this has happened.

He has twice previously been returned as an MP in a by-election by courting the Muslim vote - Bethnal Green & Bow and Bradford West. He has twice been kicked out at the first opportunity. If he was a good MP, he'd have retained his seat in either of those constituencies...
