Isn't the issue a lack of facilities in that area rather than it being seating or standing? If there's no toilets etc it won't matter whether it's standing or seating as it's just not fit for use.

I'm in the Ponty right next to the Corner Stand and I'm an unwilling stander simply because the crowd in front of me insists on standing. I've been in the same seat for over 25 years, enjoy the company of the folk around me who are now friends, and I'll be well p!ssed off if I have to move and give way to the standers.
Incidentally this has been going on for many years, and the club could have sorted it long ago if they'd had the will. It started with just a few down at the front and expanded in a ripple effect.

They can put some toilets in at the same time. I know a bloke that could do it.

Given how easy and cheap it is to hire portaloos and that we sold out home ends last season without them hiring said portaloos to get the stand open it must mean there is mire significant work needs doing to open the stand.

    OK.
So if you were the guy who had to make the decision what would you do?

You’re already standing though? Nothing to stop you stopping there and still standing. There is no way to pick an area to install safe standing without inconveniencing someone. I wouldn’t be against making the whole Ponty End safe standing, then giving half the North stand back to the home fans who want to sit behind a goal.

I should say first of all that I fully support the creation of a safe standing area, in fact if I were younger I'd be a stander myself. At the moment I stand part of the time but have to sit and make the best of it most of the time. I also accept that wherever it goes someone is going to be inconvenienced, and I have no more right than anyone else to be exempt from this. Doesnt mean I have to like it though! :)
Having said that, my own feeling is that it would be best placed along the back few rows, which would make for a better atmosphere and minimise any displacement.

I guess I was right to be sceptical. Although you don't have to be Nostradamus to predict that things at the club will take much longer than claimed or won't happen at all. That's just what happens.
