Think both managers would take a point before a balls kicked..going to be a nervy game with both sides starting with caution. thing is if they score first ya can see 2-1 to us...am going for 1-1 honours even..
Wednesday last season? Bolton in the playoffs? I'd say our recent track record in such games is more than decent.
Maybe I'm being ultra cynical, I just feel like I remember a fair few occasions where we've disappointed in such circumstances.
Going to be a tough one tonight. McAtee caused them all sorts of problems with his pressing at their place. He could be a big miss for us.
Their fans view. They're a confident bunch. Chance of Dion Charles being back too, albeit a slim one. https://the-wanderer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27718
One of the commentary teams in one of our recent Tuesday night games (probably Shrewsbury, but maybe Oxford) said that our record on a Tuesday night in the last few years has been really good.
I’m expecting prime Real Madrid, having read through their forums quite a bit this week. apparently we are a cynical ale house team who will aim to disrupt their total football.
Under the lights? I'll give you the dee dar whooping. Blackpool 26/04/22 Port Vale 13/09/22 Lincoln 25/10/22 Ipswich 25/04/23 Posh 15/08/23 Pompey 19/09/23 All disappointing performances and results, at home, under lights, midweek.
That's OK, we usually play better against the better teams. We sometimes struggle when we under-estimate lower teams.
I'm fairly confident we'll beat both Bolton tonight and Portsmouth at their place while dropping points to Carlisle and Cheltenham. That is our way.
I’m not convinced these were all huge games , big crowds, with a chance to put pressure on the top 2 but you might correct me !
Thanks I hadn’t checked that detail. Having seen the Blunts last night though I just fancied some of that. Bolton will come swaggering expecting to put us in our place so I want to see a total annihilation - 6-0 would be perfect!
2-2; we take the lead throwing the game plan out of the window and nobody knows how to react. We try and give them chances which they struggle to take to force ourselves into a losing position. Eventually they do but leaves us too little time to force a win. Last minute equaliser sends everyone home content enough.
Semantics. But most of them were big games where beforehand there was a feeling of "if we can win this one...", and we disappointed.
