Yes because it’s always given to the attacker in the box when he falls down because he isn’t going to get the header. Other end and that’s a foul to the defence. It’s really sickening and could easily be the difference between Automatic and playoffs
Parking the bus didn't help either. If you have hands all over striker your giving the ref a decision.
But why does Cosgrove never get those decisions? The foul previous to that not given was bordering on comical. Incredibly bad refereeing.
I'm saying when you have your hands over the striker you give the ref a decision to make. Bolton will also argue the header back from earl that was short where he then grabs the striker should have been a pen. I agree the one on Cosgrove before was a foul.
I think the sarcasm was nt clear in my post. Strikers almost never get those in the box Cogrover can’t even get far more clear cut ones outside. Most refs either ignore that or give the foul to the defender
An incredible amount of time wasting. Ball boys going missing, nobody rushing to make a move to take a throw in and all the subs plus a couple of goals.
Looked a pen to me. But as already pointed out, had that diabolical decision not to give a free kick on Cosgrove, it's a different passage of play, and the penalty doesn't happen. That said. We win our game in hand, we are 2nd. So still all to play for
Why were our players so slow to react to the penalty save too? I know they'd have been extremely pissed off with the decision but they should have been switched on for the rebound. Feel for Roberts who did really well tonight.
I think that was Pines that grabbed him after the short header back, but agree it could easily have been given as a pen. Agree it was a nailed on foul on Cosgrove too.
Looked soft to me in the ground but will reserve judgement until I’ve seen the highlights. The shove on Cosgrove was as blatant as they come. Right under the assistant ref’s nose too.
I didn't get a good look at the penalty so I can claim Wengeritis on that one but in my opinion a Sheffield Wednesday fan should not be allowed to referee a game involving Barnsley or any other south Yorkshire teams because it causes doubt in supporters minds and puts unnecessary pressure on the ref and then people call into question his integrity if he makes a decision. You wouldn't have a Man city fan referee a man utd game or a Sunderland fan referee a Newcastle game.
I’ve just watched it back. Incredibly soft, if I am being kind. If I am being harsh it was a dreadful decision - you would have to give 20 penalties a game if that’s a foul.
